Hi Scott, Cat and Humpty! It's turning into a bit of a party!! Thank you all for popping in - it's strange to think that somebody actually reads my ramblings :)

Cat - sorry to hear about your divorce but I'm sure you'll get through it - you've always been so strong and coped and bounced back. Maybe not what you want to hear, but my divorce years ago was the best thing to happen in a long time. Liberating in a way. I felt like I was me again. Thinking of you xxx

Humpty - I was prescribed tamoxifen as I was 46 and peri menopausal . I have to take it for 5 years and then, post menopause, switch to a different drug that does the same thing but designed for after the menopause. Perhaps you could ask about it if the results are positive? My consultant is great - very matter of fact about it all and not emotional about the issue which I think helps. I was offered a number of options - do nothing, have additional regular mammograms and MRIs, have 3 monthly check ups (manual inspection) with the practice nurse, tamoxifen and the absolute last resort of mastectomy. I could choose any selection of the above or nothing at all. I went for tamoxifen and additional screening at the hospital and seeing the nurse regularly. I'll be honest the tamoxifen hasn't been easy, especially in the beginning (sickness, tiredness, menopause symptoms ) but it has got better, no sickness/nausea now but am in full blown menopause hot flushes and disturbed sleep. Better than the alternative though.....

Went on the night out last night but was sensible, only had 4 drinks all night, and was home by midnight. I shared taxis there and back and so that cost less than I thought but the meal was expensive (very nice Lebanese restaurant). It was budgeted for but I'd hoped not to spend it all - never mind, at least it wasn't over budget....

Got up at 7am, took the dog to the park for an hour and then did a mini grocery shop for the week. Spent £25 but that did include £8 on a massive box of diet cokes for the week for work. I'm trying to use up what's in before going on holiday on the 25th but needed washing powder and a few other household bits and bobs.

It's a busy social week - tomorrow evening is the awards evening at work, on Tuesday I'm out for tea after work with SLT as a goodbye to myself and another colleague that's also leaving, Wednesday is tea out with my science team (only in the local pub straight after work for an hour or two, will be driving) and then Thursday is the last day of term staff do. Don't really want to go on that but have to as its my last day....
    It's a bit of a mad week.....
Throw in sports day tomorrow and a whole school all day 15km sponsored walk on Wednesday and I think I'll be very happy to see Friday ;)

I'm trying to motivate myself to go for a shortish run now but not feeling the love yet.... Will force myself soon.
Will see OH later on but otherwise have no big plans. Need to gather my energy for the bonkers week ahead.

    6. Sort out work wardrobe, charity shop donations - done
    7. Phone mum to arrange dog drop for holidays - done
    8. Send dads birthday card - done
    9. Use up food in the house and then only buy essentials that are really needed and will get eaten before I go away
    10. Write 2x big data reports - the last ever ones at this school..... - done
    11. Bring home important work stuff from office for my new job - done

Went over to OHs for the afternoon - he made a lovely big posh halloumi salad for a late lunch. He's quiet today but still trying - I think he's just knackered and needs a break. I wouldn't do his job if you paid me! He's gone to play golf now so I came home and sorted out the bedding and tidied the clean washing away. Then, at a loose end, I decided to tackle the work wardrobe which was bursting at the seams. I've made three piles - charity shop, dry cleaning and possible trial washing of a couple of items that I wouldnt be heart broken over if it didn't work out well (older skirt suits that I forgot I had that are supposedly machine washable that I might get a bit more wear out of next term).
I also need to tackle my other wardrobe but have run out of steam for now.....

I've put my work clothes for this week ready so there's no faffing about in the mornings.
I have to also go through the huge shoe collection - many of which are beyond redemption and be brutal and chuck them. I'll buy two new pairs of work shoes in the summer and that should do it with one or two new suits. That can wait until the end of the summer holidays though when I'm a bit more flush and I've sorted out the wardrobe so there's somewhere to put them.

Going to potter around a bit and then watch the new series of Unforgotten at 9pm.

You're always on the go MT... I get tired reading how much you do. :D
Sounds like a good weekend, and you're getting on and getting stuff done and whilst next week looks hectic, you have your holiday just a few days later :D

    Thanks Cat.

An unexpected turn tonight - OH decided he was "flat" today and after golf rang me to ask me out for a drink this evening. I picked him up and we went to a nice pub for a couple of hours and had a lovely chatty time. Made me happy. It's progress that he now recognises that he's sometimes a bit hard work and tries to make amends - it's the exception rather than the norm now too so he's turned a corner I think.
Off to bed now - happy and content :)

    Hi MT

I'm so glad you have turned a corner with OH. Relationships are hard work in ways no-one ever tells you about.

Not long now until your holiday. I hope you have a lovely time.

    Take care

Thank you StarMummy. Can't wait to go!

A long day at work - teaching, meetings and sports day would have been enough but then it was followed by the awards evening that went on until 8pm. Managed to sneak home for an hour to walk and feed the dog though.
Since being home properly I've eaten tea (leftovers from the fridge) and walked the dog again for half an hour, dodging the the torrential rain.

Got a few little jobs out of the way today too by printing the holiday docs and ordering the dogs tablets. Tried to order my repeat prescription too but have to go in to the doctors to do it .
Tired now - won't be a late one tonight
