Thanks Greenbee and Rosa.
The problem is I don’t have the counter space so a table top would not work. Now I’m not doing the kitchen I will just have to do the dishes by hand and make more effort. I can do better with the resources I have, and I will

I liked the backpack but I did not love it so it goes back. It is too big and bulky. A shame but not a big deal.
£19/100 spent as when I went to Waitr0se for my back pack I spotted a free range turkey reduced from £49 to £17. I’ll wash and season and joint it in half later and freeze. Also some YS veggies £2
Breakfast made and packed

Going to wash my hair, do a face-scrub and face-pack tonight whilst watching rubbish TV
Going to pack away some bowls from cupboard
Going to clean kitchen cupboard
Going to tidy and vacuum the living room
Enjoy your evening everyone

Don't wash poultry! That's how you can spread any germs. Just joint it, freeze it and then cook properly. I got reduced turkey crowns and hams after Christmas last year and am still working my way through them.
I keep my dishwasher (and washing machine and tumble dryer) in the utility room rather than the kitchen. Just make sure it's on the list for when you DO do the kitchen - and in the meantime, make sure you minimise the amount of stuff you use

I always wash poultry in water with a bit of lime. I am careful so should be okay

You are lucky to have a utility room

Utility room was a non-negotiable when I was looking for a new house!
I've been watching George Clark's 'Old house new home' and am impressed by what they manage to achieve on the budgets they have. I dread to think how much I've spent...0 -
I did not realise that you were not doing the kitchen.

Nespresso are great my top tips:<snip>
So I've given in and ordered myself a nespresso - we'll see how I get on with it.
* If you have got one which heats milk clean it every time like they do in the coffee shops
* If you haven't then 60 secs in the microwave gives you an americano and hot - and if you whisk it its proper latte like
* Aeroccino's (sp?) are OK but never last very long
* Lidl do Nespresso capsule - we like the blue ones for 17p each - but treat yourself to a mixed box and see what you like - its not that much of a treat if you are are saving yourself £2.60 at a coffee shop
(sorry for off topic on your thread DIA)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Yes beanie, I decided there were more important essentials to be done. I am just going to do the plastering in the kitchen and present as a space ready for a new kitchen.I did not realise that you were not doing the kitchen.

I use the same tea mug all day DIA otherwise I would drown in washing up, although I do have a dishwasher which is essential for four - five of us.
Could you wash a few dishes every time you boil the kettle to keep on top of it? I use kettle boiling time to empty the dishwasher and wash delicate things that won't go in it.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I feel your pain with mounting dishes, and we are a family of 4 with no dishwasher.
I find it easier to have a hot basin full of soapy water when i start cooking, that way (using your morning as an example) I'd whisk up the eggs, put them in the pan then while they're cooking wash up the bowl and whisk. Prep the coffee etc. Once you've played up your egg, plunge the pan straight into the hot water and wash then eat your breakfast/ drink your coffee. Then immediately just wash up the plate/ cups etc with the leftover water if it's still got enough. Doing it in stages as I cook helps for me. Maybe for you too?Sealed Pot Challenge 075
