Thanks Redo. I have enjoyed my day :)

I found some brand new beautiful alpaca wool gloves. They are embroidered with organically dyed threads. They had a label signed by the person who made them. I looked them up and they are £40 but I paid £6 in my fave charity shop. They are to be sent abroad for a present so they are perfect as light to send :)

I was tired so my list went out of the window. I made some lovely soup, returned my library books and had a coffee out. The rest can wait.

The library hasn’t worked. I paid fines. I did not read the books. I’ve decided to give up on the library and on gyms, I start both with good intentions but end up paying without benefitting.

I made some lentil pasta with chicken and green beans and sun dried tomatoes. Delish :)

    Have a lovely evening all

I had that trouble with libraries too, I was always paying fines and it added a whole new level of stress to my life . Anyway if I like a book I don't want to give it back. So now I buy dirt cheap books in charity shops instead, because books aren't clutter ;).

What an amazing bargain those charity shop gloves were!

My cold has got worse so I am not working today.

I have made a salad and plated it for later and I have lots of homemade soup.

    Today will be a NSD.

Pottering today and cleaning up/decluttering/steam cleaning the floors in kitchen and living room/dining room, as by the time it gets dark I don’t have the motivation to do anything.

Making a list for things I need but will get these tomorrow

Someone at work has gone off with breast cancer and the urge to leave work has resurfaced. When I mentioned this before Homegrown said I had not sounded happy in my work for a long time and I know it is true. I could survive for a year, I just worry that once the year was over I might be in trouble. However, If I get the window done and the bathroom, I can rent the room out as a last resort. This urge to leave work won't leave me despite being given a sabbatical :(

A colleague left this week for a new job and I kept thinking 'I wish I was going too'

The outside of the house looks so much better and I am going to try and get the front garden cleared in the next few days. I already have a big pot and would like to fill it with winter flowering pansies and plant spring bulbs for the first time in a decade

Wishing you all a positive Saturday

  • The pansies and bulbs will look lovely :).

How would you earn a living if you left your job DIA? Do you have a plan other than a lodger?

    Thanks Hairyhand :)

If I left my job I would pursue my creative work for a year and then look for part time work.

This wanting to leave my job feels like a smoke alarm goes off and each time I turn it off and waft my arms around but I never put out the fire.

However, I have returned to my plan to keep going at least until April when I return to work. I only have 6 weeks left, then off until April. My diary is about my transformation in 2020. When/if I go back I will have 9 months left of 2019. So, for now I will keep going but squirrelling away as much as I can in case I get to breaking point and quit.

    I still have a cold. :(

I have done 2 lots of washing.

I did a few hours gardening and it looks better but still needs another session

I am going in search of a rake for the garden and some potting compost for a houseplant.

I need a cable so I can set up the DVD player and an exercise mat so I can at least begin sun salutations, although I am hoping the universe delivers a charity shop exercise DVD or two :)

Hoping I can nab some YS fruit/veg/protein but if not I won’t be buying anything full price except some 85% chocolate :)

    Happy Sunday folks

Hope you feel a bit better today DIA.

I think you have already given yourself your answer about your job. If you can afford to leave after sabbatical, do it while you can.

Haven't you booked a holiday for late next year , maybe make it a longer holiday and do some travelling.

I see what you mean DIA, but it sounds like you already have a solution - get through to your sabbatical, you've got that as thinking and set up time and then you can see what next :)
