Positive day all round DIA and I'm glad the sat nav guy was helpful. That's rare with sales people these days in my experience.

Very MSE with the foundation and the refunded faulty item too.

Hope you're enjoying your evening :)

Very rare Homegrown. I asked if his manager was on the shop floor so I could commend him for the service provided, but he was the manager apparently. I made sure to let him know how much I appreciated him. The man who set up my phone with a new adaptor was equally excellent. Its a shame this is not the norm for service...

Thanks HH. I sacrificed my creative work this week to get these things done without undue stress. Otherwise I could see I would stress, crash and burn and I would not have got ANYTHING done. I am learning to accept who I am rather than who I would like to be.

I can’t believe using a sat nav is so straightforward. That said I had to consult the guide book to find the (hidden) cigarette lighter! So far, I would say it has been an excellent purchase. I used it to go and get petrol to test it and it was so easy to follow.

I also put air in my tyres. I’ve never done this before so I have acquired a new skill. The air has not been done since I have owned it and all tyres were several points down. All good now.

I explored oil but it was complicated choosing the right one, so I left that one.

Tomorrow the plan is to find a Half0rds as my back wiper needs replacing and I want to top up on windscreen wash, coolant and a few other bits.

I also bought paper, so today I will be doing my PP1 letters.

    Washing done and out drying

I felt stressed this morning as I was focused on all the car related things I know nothing about but this afternoon I feel a bit calmer.

I hope your day is going well.

wow - keep on ticking things off that list and you'll soon have nothing left on it (I Know that doesn't really happen, but you're doing a good job trying)

I did air yesterday too (and fuel). I hate doing both, but was low on fuel and even I could tell that one of my tyres was underinflated. It's the potholes...
  • Yay to sat nav and car stuff. I find it really scary too but have a couple of books to help and one of the Halfords near me is really good - they will advise and sort fitting wipers etc for an extra couple of quid. I'm sure they think I'm bonkers but I'd simply rather pay them £2 and have it done instantly than stress over whether I bought the right ones, am I trying the right way to get the old ones off, why won't it come off, what happens if I break it, blah blah. I also have a little inflator that runs off the cigarette lighter socket - so no jumping up and down on a footpump, you just set the pressure it's supposed to be, connect it up and press go - it evens stops a half wotsit over the amount to allow for a little air escaping while you wrestle the cap back on! Though I should mention that it also now has a big sticker on it saying 'Run The Engine' because it is very embarrassing to have the same rescue guy who jump started your car last Christmas come out again, especially when he remembers you and that you flattened the battery the same way last year... :o:o:rotfl:

  • I think our sat nav is really easy to use too and we love it :).

Well done on getting it working and also on sorting out the tyres etc. Look at all the frogs you're eating this week :T.

I think you're very wise to know yourself and your limits. There's no point in trying to do too much and then getting so stressed that you achieve nothing. Hopefully getting all of this practical stuff done this week will free you up to do some really creative work next week :).

Well done on getting the sat nav up and working. I use the one on my phone and use it quite often. I have to confess to never putting air in my tyres , or sorting oil out . The man at the local garage does it for me for free, but I have known him 30 years , well that my excuse anyway.

Keep going on your list this week.

Thanks Rosa, the machine was quite straightforward you put in the number you want and it bleeps when the air tyre reaches that number. If paying a few pounds saves stress then in my book it is worth it :)
