That's interesting about it being Mobile friendly.
If mobile includes iPads, the blue version very often cuts off the right-hand side of people's posts.(I just lurve spiders!)

Delighted to see MSE no longer wishes to associate itself with Facebook for log-in purposes. Re the extended character problems of late as well as the seeming dictum about who-shall-have-green, and who-must-have-blue:
What's happening here is reminiscent of the way Microsoft came to believe itself an infallible arbiter of taste and choice, as if it was a motor manufacturer which with each new model range shifted everything around inside the vehicle up to and including positioning the steering wheel on the back seat. Just because it felt like it.
Many a justification was given for this -- hackneyed, specious, and even downright mendacious -- but the underlying motivation was always clear: you, you're only a customer. We. Know. Better.
Microsoft's management is, of course, now so completely deranged that it brands much of its work as being by / from The Creator. Hopefully, MSE's own management will not display similar aspirations to God-like omnipotence. The message to MSE is: keep it simple; keep it usable . . . and keep it GREEN.

Have all these people commenting/complaining about the demise of the green screens considered that it's probably more about the money? Maybe the Supermarket owners are trying to remodel themselves after Aldi/Lidl, rather than the old big 4, and that includes limiting the varieties available.
Back in the days when Martin was in charge didn't he sometimes remind us that the forum was secondary to the main site? We're the ones costing money for the site, not making it, so there's no incentive to keep us happy.
3 days in but no examples to show.:undecided
Maybe some screenshots (from a 16:9 monitor) would help some of those who are confused or uncertain.
I'm not sure which is the most recent green option, but I guess it must be the recommended one.
compared to the forum default.
Just for comparison, the other versions being lost, including the 'easier on the eye' 'Less bright' versions
Old look, new masthead
Stretchy, less bright
Stretchy
fixed width, more space
fixed width, less bright
So those (1000) of us wanting to stay green will have to move from
to
until there's another upgrade/cost cutting exercise, when we'll probably lose that tooMSE_Andrea wrote: »the last version of the green (which we're no longer developing)0 -
