Not A Typical Student - Financial Advice Needed!

I'm 38 and am going back to uni in September. I already have a degree and so can not apply for another student loan even though I paid that off years ago. However, having worked in a well paid job for the last 10 years and having saved, I am in the fortunate position of not having to worry about funding myself through uni this time around. This is where my question comes in: based on the fact that I am unlikely to need an overdraft and that I have a large sum of money in the bank to fund me through, is it worth me opening a student bank account or not? I'm grateful for any advice as I can't figure out myself what to do!

The USP for a student account is normally for the benefits such as a fee free OD or other freebies like railcards (although these seem to be aimed at 16-25yo).
It's personal preference with the account but definitely utilise any student discount you can in stores that offer it - some only need you to display an ID card from Uni.

I'd open one anyway just for the free railcard! You may need to pay in X amount per term but you could always close it after a while anyway.0
