Sorry to hear about the cottage but if it didn't feel right then it wasn't meant to be. Firm believer of gut feeling. Last time we moved we where going after a bungalow that seemed perfect near to where we used to live, but after the survey report that showed a few issues, it just didn't seem to feel right, so we pulled out. Two weeks later we found the home we have now been in for 18 years and have no plans to move. You will know when you have found the one.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Sorry to hear about the cottage, it's a shame but a big risk.
Happy new hair!
Well done on all the payments.
I hate the dark mornings too, I can't wait for it to get lighter."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Evening.
Feel as though the last few days have been a whirlwind, weekend was busy looking at houses and taking DC to various sporting activities.
I have managed to keep up with daily TT and 1p daily challenge, couple of bits sold on ebay and made £15, listed 12 items on Sunday, This was just business stuff as I don't seem to have time to list the general bits that I have so i'm saving them for the next school hols and will set a morning aside to list them.
Spends so far this week have been £20 on fuel for car, £2.10 in Mr T on milkand potatoes, £20 on DS school lunch account and £2.50 for my weekly school lunch.
Continuing trying to declutter
18,christmas biscuit tin.
19, finished a bottle of perfume
20,used a free shampoo sachet that had been in the bathroom for ages.
21, box Christmas chocs eaten.
House looks like a bomb has gone off and i'm counting down to Friday when I can give it a good tidy as I just don't have the energy/motivation in an evening. I think part of it is the time of year I really struggle with these dark winter days.0 -

Morning.
Busy few days with work, DC having after school activities and DD's parents evening, which went really well and she is on track for some good grades. She really tries hard academically, it isn't something that comes naturally to her and really stresses over exams so i'm really pleased with how well she is doing, I'm also really proud of her because all her teachers said she was a lovely girl and a pleasure to teach:).
Decluttering continues and a gift bag and empty sweet tub have gone, going to sort out DC bedrooms today as they havn't been done properly since before christmas:eek:, hopefully more stuff will leave the house.
Small top up shop done last night to see us through the weekend, spent £19.96 in Mr T.still using up the wonky veg box I bought last week so think I will make carrot and parsnip soup which will be good for lunches over the weekend. We have loads of eggs to use up so breakfast are going to be egg based and I will bake a cake today.
Meal Plan -
Fri - Chicken thigh casserole, rst pots and veg
Sat - Beef cobbler, mash and veg
Sun- Rst pork, rst pots and veg
Mon- sausage, egg and beans.
Tue - soup and cheese toasties.
Wed - hm fish chips and peas.
Thurs -pasta or leftovers.
Not the greatest meal plan and very potato heavy but they need using up.
TT and 1p challenge is going well, bank account is looking lean and i'm hoping I don't need to transfer any money across from savings, CB goes in Tues which will help just hope we can last between now and then, I don't see why not as I don't need fuel in my car as there is a third of a tank and we have loads of food in so fingers crossed.0 -
Well done to DD you must be so proud, it's lovely to hear good feedback from school isn't it.
Hope you have a lovely weekend

Good news on DD parents evening, it's hard when you're a practical person and can't get it down on paper. So nice to hear positive things from her teachers.
I am house cleaning too, have a day off and need to get every room scrubbed as it's so dirty. I really don't know how it happens in the space of a few days!
Dinners sound good, have a great weekend.
