Best win so far - holiday to Florida
  • Happy New Year:beer:
  • Well it's the start of a new year, so what's in the pipeline so far - we have 1 family holiday booked for the end of August, myself and DD are away for a week in July, DS is off to Africa in July, we are in the midst of buying a cottage, DD has her GCSE this summer and will be starting college in September.
This year I want to be super thrifty I have masses of clothes and toiletries, I'm sure some of these could be got rid of and I need to really look at my clothes and see which bring me joy and get rid of those items that I don't like or make me feel frumpy.
There are a couple of items of clothes I do need but I want to buy good quality pieces that I need and love. I need totake care of myself and make time to pamper myself, read books etc. Last night I did some knitting for the first time in months (very rock and roll on NYE :rotfl:)

    2019 Goals

    Make £3000 on ebay/surveys.
use it up and wear it out.
Declutter 365 items (1 a day should be easy).
Daily thriftiness, those little things add up.
Keep on top of daily to-do list.
    Mealplan.
Me time, read a book, knitting, yoga, face mask

  • DAY 1

New grocery month starts today,i have budgeted £300 for groceries and toiletries, shouldn't need any toiletries except toothpaste this month and I have some boots points I can use. I'm pretty sure £300 is to much as we have full freezers and cupboards and loads of treats and alcohol left from Christmas. I'm not planning on going anywhere today so aiming for a NSD.
All meals are from stores breakfast is eggs on toast, lunch is left over takeaway from last night or for the piggies that ate all theirs it will be whatever is in the fridge to eat up, Tea tonight is Rst lamb and trimmings.I also took some stewing beef out of the freezer to dump in the slow cooker tomorrow morning before we head out for the day, that way we won't be tempted to pick something upon the way home such as fish and chips if I know we have a meal waiting.

Household thriftiness continues with only using the wood burner for heat and fluffy blankets on the sofa's and beds, washing is drying on the airer, it looks as though it is going to be a sunny day here today so i'm going to peg out and see if it dries.
Going to turn Christmas cards into gift tags and put them away with Christmas decs for next year. Also need to find an item to declutter the dining room drawers are a disgrace so maybe I should start there.

    Have a great day xx

Sounding good and purposeful PWPS, have a lovely couple of days xx
  • Lovely chilled out day, went for a walk this morning in the sunshine which was lovely, DD is currently out riding horsey, DS is chilling watching a film and scoffing ice cream and Dh is pottering in garage.
Decluttered a pile of magazines and paperwork into recycling and waiting for my phone to charge so i can take some photos and list a few bits on ebay.picked out all the chocolate that nobody seems to like out of the quality street/celebrations tub and have put them in the baking cupboard ready to be chopped up and added to rocky road.
I have knitted another square for a blanket, i'm going to knit up all the random bits of wool hopefully I will have enough for both DS and DD a blanket each.

Made a TT of 7p to savings to round account down, not much but all helps.

Happy New Year PWPS, looking forward to following your progress this year. Last year was a quiet year for me on these boards but am back and enjoying catching up with everybody. Feels like old friends. A lot of what you are planning is similar to me money wise. Going to declutter(which I love) sell what I can. Use food up instead of wasting, not waste money( which looking back I did a lot of last year). Saying NO alot more this year.xx
