Surely the poster isn't "concerned" at all but just trying to respond to your question?

OK for "are concerned" try "are aware" - same meaning, different wording......

Right - so you are confirming my feelings - that having over £16 capital will stop me from claiming credits only NI ?

So whether I have £16.01k or £50k will make no difference as far as you are concerned ?

I have absolutely no idea and you've had lots of real life and online knowledgeable advice that I recommend you follow.

I was simply explaining why when you're applying for a benefit where there is a cut off of 16k savings you actually have to show your bank statements when you declare them.

    That's never going to happen....
I would prefer to pay the £6k myself than show DWP my personaln saving details !

No w06 is not saying that.

Have you read the FoI question?
The Q was how can someone in a full UC area but with more income or more capital for a means tested UC claim (and doesn't have the NI contributions for a new style JSA/ESA claim) process a credit only claim.
This seemed to be your exact circumstances.

I'm beginning to wonder if yours was a serious enquiry. You seem to throw problems up at every stage - writing forms, printing forms, going round in circles, raising irrelevant difficulties, etc, etc.

If the enquiry was serious, and we could be talking about an additional c.£2k a year for each year of your retirement, but you lack the cognitive capability to undertake this complicated process then get some help from an intelligent family member.
It's already 5 months on from when xylo gave you this info - if you muck around much longer you will have lost one 1 year of the NI credits available to you.

Some posts back I suggested voluntary class 3 contributions as an option (before the costs increase post April 2019), your response was negative - 'I'm going to get the DWP to pay it - I'm not paying it from my savings'. (or words to that effect).

Now you are saying the complete opposite!

Many posters have used their time and knowledge in an effort to help you.
Unfortunately it seems that you won't be helped and instead raise perceived objection after objection.
My patience is now at an end.

BTW: I see Danday is back posting on the Disability Money Matters Forum - Time for an Autumn break I feel!

It would help if the DWP trained their staff. If it is a full service UC area then new style ESA is available (old style ESA is not). Unlike UC which is for anyone on a low income ESA is specifically for people with a health condition that limits their ability to work.

    Time for an update :

Went back to JCP, Yesterday and found another discrepancy
I had asked CAB for advice and was told that "old style" ESA was still available (nationwide ?) for NI Credit only claims - but JCP deny this fact - now telling me to claim "new style" ESA

Having tried UC - after JPC told me to claim this - and found that I lacked entitlement.

So I am back to square one !
Could someone please confirm whether what CAB told me is true or not :-

"The advice is to make a “credits only” claim for the legacy Income based ESA benefit not the New Style ESA benefit (which as a legacy benefit was called Contribution based ESA) . I appreciate this is somewhat confusing as in theory legacy Income based ESA is not available in your area. However, based on the reply for our second tier advice, and input from my colleagues, you CAN still make a “credits only” claim.
The advice suggests contacting the Job Centre to do this but if that is what has caused the confusion then you may wish to speak to ESA themselves. Clearly you cannot qualify for legacy ESA as such but you can make a “credits only” claim for it."

Why don't you work through the advice contained in the link xylophone provided in his post (no 7 of this topic) back in March.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
