After asking this lot of imbeciles to take my 9 year old sons number off their database, they promptly ignored me. Quite how they got it considering he can't possibly have bought anything from bid up or ideal world they couldmt explain either. Anyway, his name is Andy Huggins and his number is 01273 668844, I've just left an answerphone message for him which I'm sure he'll enjoy tomorrow...his answerphone message also gives his mobile number out if you want to give him a taste of his own medicine.0

Hi there
i recently recieved this package and i had a look atit.
Wasnt really what i wanted so i phoned them up and told them i will send it back to them.
Everything was there and nothing was touched at all.
The package was posted by recorded delivery on 20th May 2013 and reached the savings club by 21st May 2013.
And remember i had until the 28th until my trial time was up...
On the 28th May 2013 i was charged £59.98 !!!
REASON being that even though i had posted back the package.... it wasnt processed until the 28th May 2013.
I was then issued a refund which would take a further 5 days to get back in to my account !
This company may be of some benifit to others and may help them save cash. But, for me it was a waste of time !
For anyone reading this...... just be careful and READ the small print !

After ordering something through Bid TV a couple of weeks later, a man representing this Big Savings Club called me on the back of the purchase.
Yes, bit daft but I agreed to do a 21 days trial because a couple of the offers I would use.
I asked him whether I would have to tell them that I wanted to take up full membership verbally with them. I was told yes.
Well, surprise, the information I received today tells me it is done automatically, were £49.99 is deducted.
I get so tired of being given duff information by companies, because it has happened many times where my words do not get through, hence why I'd prefer not to talk to anyone by phone to cancel.
The log in on the website doesn't work with the membership number. I've emailed them to see if I can get it cancelled that way, but may have to end up phoning rather than wait a possible 3-5 days not knowing.0 -

You should have cancelled before the 30 days.
You have not been scammed; you have agreed for the company to withdraw from your account after the trial period.

I disagree. You are right in that technically you have agreed, however I have friends who have worked for this company, who have even said they definitely con people into accepting. It's all in the wording, and sometimes they even disclose the information about the charges under their breath - so they said it but you might not have heard them.
You will only notice that you can get out of charges if you read the letter properly, unfortunately my mum fell into the trap as she was told she wouldn't have to pay anything unless she wanted to continue.
I was told by people who used to work for the company that the best way to get a refund after the 21 days is to contest the phone call, which they will investigate. They guy even told me they would send it to me if they are in the right. It's not a scam in the legal sense, but anyone tricking you into thinking you won't be charged and then going and charging you, even when you haven't provided them with your bank details directly is definitely a company not to be trusted.
How it can be legal for someone to charge your card without you knowing, also your bank card details to be passed on from one company to another shocks me completely!0 -
I spotted this website when I was looking for discounted Love2shop vouchers. Fortunately I searched for reviews first!0

AVOID The Rocket Marketing Group and the Big Save Club.
I paid £2.99 non refundable to preview the pack which just contains offers that are readily available and better on the internet and from elsewhere. First of all a waste of money.
Now they have taken £99.98 from my account despite me jumping through hoops to cancel and return the pack in accordance with their terms and conditions.
I have written to them and made a formal complaint but if I do not get all the money refunded then I will follow it up with the Direct Marketing Commission (DMC), BBC Consumer affairs programming and I will take them to the small claims court if I have to.
Their fax number is 01273 808229. I believe the chairman is Andy Huggins and the Managing Director is Alan Saunders.0 -

I expect this will happen to me and others even though I will be returning the package in accordance with their terms and conditions.
I have received the package and phoned them to cancel.
Hopefully the following will be of use?
Remember that the clock is ticking from the start. I received the package in the post today (delivered by Royal Mail through letter box and did not need to sign) and when I rang up to cancel I was informed that I was on day 3 of the free trial.
They offer a pre-paid returns envelope in the terms and conditions within the package. On the telephone they state this will be sent out within 3 to 5 days working days. You have to request the envelope when you call to cancel. I wonder how many people actually receive this pre-paid envelope in a timely fashion?
Also request a call reference number. They tried to fob me off with claims that they have discontinued that process even though it is referenced in their terms and conditions. If it is discontinued then why was I provided with one when I insisted?
I also got my bank to put a block on any further transactions from my debit card for the Big Savings Club. My bank did explain that it is not 100% effective as they can attempt to get around it by changing a 'goods/shopping/code'. The good news is that I was told once the block is on by request then the bank will refund the money to my account and chase the company for an unauthorized withdrawal.0 -
I have contacted the big savings club today as I am helping with mums finance .
firstly mum is elderly unable to write or open a letter, poor eyesight. and to be honest and unable to understand how the big savings work .
mum brought an item thro a catalogue the big savings club sent her membership and apparently to reply within 21 days .mum did not understand this and put it out for recycling as she did with other request from big savings club and has had over £100 taken out of the account. the bank has put a stop to this the membership has been cancelled. just hoping the big savings club are big enough to see the are vulnerable people out there and to put things write.0
