Am I the only one that phoned up to cancel within the thirty day period and not been bothered by them since??

I had 99.99 taken as well, I looked and I found this site which helped me decide that I had better cancel before another 99.99 was taken next year.
I tried the 'bigsavingsclub.com' site which had all silly links then I tried www.thebigsavingsclub.com site and there it all was, I have sent them an email asking to be cancelled, will wait and see what happens.

:mad: well i have just spent 2 days on the phone with Big Savers club, more like big rip off club. following a purchase from bid up tv, i was asked if i wanted to join for a fee of £1.99 i could enjoy a FREE 30 day trial, and would receive a welcome pack with terms and conditions and the right to cancel within the pack. ANYWAY, it has never arrived. I went to draw my tax credits from the bank to find they had gone, so as you do, telephoned the bank, who informed me that a company who at this point, they did not know had a payment pending of £99.99, ok i thought, who? why? and omg, how do i feed my kids this week now. After 3 hours trailing through bank statements etc, i came across the £1.99 payment I had made, luckily Rocket Marketing group's telephone number was there also.
telephone call no1, very sorry can't think why you have no had welcome pack, i will inform your bank who will release your money today for you, phew.
then bank ased for a fax from the company to establish they did not want the money
telephone call 2, very sorry but it is physically impossible due to data protection to fax your bank.
bank insist the can not release funds but the fax will resolve this
telephone call no3, very sorry, we have informed your bank, still can't send fax, keep calm, you signed for this???? did i? when?? you received a welcome pack with 30 day free trial. I DID NOT. just let me look on the Royal Mail listing, to tell you the date you sighned. OH, no signature, i know there is no signature, as I HAVE NOT HAD IT!!! so PLEASE, and yes i was begging and crying, 2 hungry kids, PLEASE fax my bank, NO WE CAN'T.
Day 2, no funds again in my bank, so trading standards are telephoned, i speak to a lady for consumer rights, yes i have a legal case against them as i have not received any terms and conditions in writing and any information on what the company has to offer, also i am entitled to 7 days right to cancel, and as i have received nothing that has not even started yet.
Telephone call 4, Very sorry you'll have to wait 3 to 5 working days for your money. After explaining to a rather pompus, know it all unsympathetic man that my kids need to eat, he has the nerve to say that my bank talk rubbish a fax won't make any difference!! he apparently used to work for the very bank i use. Oh and as I had not had my welcome pack i would get full refund, well yes so i should, but i need it now, very sorry nothing i can do, ok i think, please can i speak to a manager? I am the team leader,was his snappy reply. yeah right.
so for 2 days, i was misinformed by this company, even when i told them i had spoken to trading standards he laughed saying they work closely alongside them, i really think not.
SO BEWARE, UNCOMPASSIONATE, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT WANT TO GIVE IT BACK. I will keep you posted on any further developments, as i am soo putting in a formal complaint, you never know a manager might read it.

BSC rocks, i saved 400 with them when i rennovated my house with their B&Q offer, currently awaiting my free euro flight to amsterdam
i heard they are releasing a home and garden club which looks quite good. u guys are just crying because you havent got the brains to read your recorded mail lol
you should try www.hgclub.co.uk i think this will be slightly better for me next year when this year expires.

i too had problems finding the web page to log into and cancel, seems the web page has expired, have phoned them eventualy got through and they seem to have excepted my cancellation and even gave me a cancellation number but still not sure this is the end. phone number you need is 0845 241 2135 my trail period ends beginning of january but have aso cancelled that. will get back to let you all no if i was lucky.

price drop tv are now doing this with a company called the entertainment club, same basic process, misleading sale on the phone, order the welcome pack with free cinema tickets for £1.99, then the letter states the will charge you £24.99 if you don't cancel - how can this be legal??? can I write to peeps saying if you dont write back to me by recorded delivery I am gonna charge your bank account £25 - sounds like a wheeze, but seriously this is very poor practice, and having used the tv channel for several years now, I will NEVER use them again

I was offered a trial with them through a shopping channel recently. After receiving the information in the post, I decided it wasn't for me & chose to email to cancel. I received a reply within three days which included a cancellation reference. Still dubious, I decided to call the customer number in the letter to check this had been cancelled and the lady I spoke to advised it had & confirmed the same reference to me. To date there has been no debit made from my account & have had no problems with them. If you are concerned about this, I would advise just calling them to check, it can't hurt can it?

I tried to cancel on the automated phone system, but the battery in my phone ran out half way through, otherwise I think it would have worked. You only need to put in the numbers from the membership number, not the letters, same with postcode. When I tried again it couldn't find my account. However the web site does have a "My Account" page (at least it did today) with quite a prominent "Cancel" button, and I got an immediate email confirmation number.

Thank u everyone who provided the warnings about the big savings club you just saved me a small fortune with this one you guys have turned out to be the big savers many thanks. Jimbo.
