Dogs walked. GUAG has gone again, so I'm going to sit and read the paper for a while and hope it comes back.

I have stripped and remade DS's bed - work's not good for him atm. So he needs a bit of cherishing. I am hoping I can persuade him to do some flinging these hols; depends how fragile he is I suppose. While it was stripped I flipped the mattress, cleaned under the base and replaced the mattress having turned it all by myself. It's 4ft wide, too. Go me!
Car fluids topped up. Rabbit hutch refilled. He's lolloping around on the garden.
Been to PO posted stuff and bought LOTS of stamps. 36. And sdropped books off at chazzer.

  • Woo-hoo - I have a day off on Monday, thanks to the extensive overtime I've been working. I'm being screwed over, as it's not the total length of time I worked and they changed my contract so I had to be paid overtime rates, only to find that they didn't actually want to pay it but wanted me to work it (and above all, they know I have a pathological aversion to Working For Free) - but I prefer time off to cash anyway. Means I am off for three days, then back for 2 and three quarters and then off for 17 days. And then Himself is off on tour to the Caribbean just as I'm back to work.

Downstairs shower room degrotted and loo cleaned - going to send Himself off to the shop to pick up some biological washing powder to provide an extra layer of discouragement for the furry [strike]gits[/strike] beloved felines, as they have taken a very practical approach to toileting since we tried putting the litter box outside to encourage back out there again - 'outside is cold and breezy - why shouldn't we use the bathroom floor? It's cleanable, isn't it?'.

Upstairs loo has bleach chucked in it, sink wiped over, bath wiped over, shelf wiped (where does all this dust come from?) and top of towel rail wiped. Floor will be done when he's back from the shops, finishing off with the downstairs one.

Kitchen - well, it's not too bad. Just a couple of bowls of washing up, the usual putting away of everything left on the counter, clearing gibble off the table and wiping things over.

Living room - meh, it's fine. Just need to hang my coat up, but it's underneath a cat's carcass right now and he looks cute. And he's not under my feet moaning about something.

Himself is putting clean washing away upstairs - will be repeated once the WM/TD have been put on a couple of times. Maybe a quick vacuum over upstairs and the stairs is needed - he does seem to be quite taken with the superexpensive vacuum cleaner, as it's been used more since I got it than the previous ones ever were.

Oooh, what's this on the kitchen counter? A Fat Trap? Does this mean he's finally getting the idea of not putting crud in the sink? I'd best not grumble about getting a solution for a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place - it's not as if we don't have things that could be used to collect fat before binning already.

Planning a nice long bath later and then it's vaguely possible that my Sunday won't be wasted rage cleaning.

    Hi all

Been on a training day today for work. Have managed to put some washing in and put clean washing away. Oh and swish the kitchen floor.

No further plans for the day. DS will need picking up at some point.

Please can I put in a request for posivibes too? I have an interview today for a job I'd really quite like.

It's a bit late, but *posivibes* heading your way, and also to everyone else who might need them, particularly on the job-hunting and work front.

March and rally attended, suitable chanting chanted and chatting with like-minded people. I skived off after a couple of hours to attend middleclass stuff heaven for the first time since it opened in Exeter very many years ago. I am now the proud owner of a walking foot which actually fits my '45 year old unknown to everyone except engineers make' sewing machine and it works! Yay!

While I was out OH offloaded the rabbit hutch and hostess trolley that I advertised on Gumtr33 this week. They'd been hanging around like a bad smell for far too long, too. Amazingly, this time I priced them at what I paid for them and within 48 hours of placing the ads I had firm offers at the asking price, and when the people turned up they just handed the right amount of cash over without haggling. I'm not on the Scrimpers list because I've got a limited amount to sell left, but that means my total for March is in excess of of £200 because I also sent something to auction. Very chuffed with that, so thanks Flyladies once again for the inspiration to finally do something.

On a bit of a caffeine high so that feels a bit weird.
    Better is good enough.

I've never been to MC Stuff Heaven, only MC Grocery Heaven - there is a 'Home' version a short bus ride away, but I'm always filled with the slightly nagging doubt that Security would spot me walking across the car park and send out a tannoy 'Unleash the Hounds'. Which is annoying because I have a feeling I might find it less objectionable than every other store I've ever endured, going by my aversion to all supermarkets other than the grocery equivalent.

Himself got sidetracked in the end, so nothing else happened in the way of cleaning. I therefore wandered into the kitchen when he finally left for the shops, shoved packets in cupboards, put the coffee back where it belongs, hastily luzzed the scraps and whatnots into the bin and wiped over the table whilst the kettle was coming up to the boil. The Idiot Cat's feet are obviously carrying filth that is invisible even on his little white feet, as it was pretty grubby. He therefore only has the floor and the washing up to deal with after cooking - I don't mind nuking the countertops once they're clear.

He's just come back with food I don't really want to eat, so I'm having egg and chips instead, and he remembered the bio washing powder to go over the bathroom floor with some boiling water (and got one of the two brands I mentioned), but rather than leave it for me, he's asked how I would do it [chuck some into boiling water, slosh on floor, leave to soak, then slosh off] and got the bucket out ready.

It should end up looking extra sparkly and fresh in there - although I really don't remember washing powder smelling quite that strongly - have manufacturers revved up the scents recently on the non eco versions? I think they have with washing up liquid, as when he's got the top selling brand in various scents, it's actually stunk the entire downstairs out.
