Evening all!
I hope everyone has had a good Christmas and best wishes for the new year xx
I thought I’d start off my new year with a new focus and plan to meet my objectives, so I’m writing up my plans here to get ready for this new challenge. I already have a diary and notes at home with all my financial and personal goals and details some here I’m going to write up the big info:
Financial
· Pay off overdraft – spent a lot on food for Xmas but not too worried as we had a lovely time at home, first time we ever had Xmas day at home! £500 to pay
· Pay for sofa – balance due September 2010 of £1322
· Stick to budgets – very bad at sticking to food one really so hoping to reduce with plans elsewhere (see personal plans)
· Reduce mobile plan in August – don’t need as many texts/calls so I think I can half this cost.
· Holiday – we’re aiming to go on holiday in August for our first family holiday abroad, we’ve been saving the Tesco’s vouchers and currently have £168 which is £674 in holiday funds. Hopefully some other family are coming too which would reduce the cost of the holiday for us. Need to save spending money.
· Mortgage overpayments – will start these again after paying off overdraft and saving full amount for the sofa.
Personal
· Main task to grow veg, herbs and maybe some fruit this year. Veg patch just needs weeding and new compost bin built out of old gates and a little expense needed on some potato tubers and some seeds. I received some free seeds so already have broad beans, spring onions and tomatoes to grow.
· My goal is still to aim to reduce work to part-time so all the above will help us towards that aim, am very determined to work hard this year so that goal happens as soon as possible.
Other
· Still doing surveys but haven’t really got time to do mystery shops, anyway any extra cash will go towards the finances and any vouchers will be used for birthday presents and next Christmas.
I’ve probably missed loads of stuff I want to say but you get the drift of my goals for 2010.
Now lets get started!0 -
Hi Evab
Good luck with your goals this year. You sound very focussed and hope you are successful. I need to work out where we are going this year as it will be a big year for us so will need the finances behind us to be able to do it.
Looking forward to keeping up with your progress.
How's your running going? Any races lined up this year?
