my boyriend loves the chicken combos from dominos but at around £5.50 each i told him noooo!
normally slice chicken breast into strips, cot in flour then in egg then roll in w/meal bread crmubs & seasoning. Bake in oven at 200c for about 20-25mins, delicious and very filling.

I do the same as the others, egg and breadcrumbs, but I mix some cajun spices in with the breadcrumbs.
  • I mix a bit of parmesan in with the breadcrumbs and then do the egg and breadcrumb thing and bake in the oven - it's lovely!

    Hi,

Am making lots of nuggets/goujons for a party on Friday and want to freeze them - do I need to cook them before freezing or freeze them raw?

    Thanks :D

you can do either, they will freeze fine raw, but obviously take longer to cook, or cook them first, freeze then reheat just before serving as you would bought ones

  • I have been doing a very easy recipe for my kids.

Pieces of chicken dipped in red or green pesto, then breadcrumbs, then baked in the oven! Easy Peasy. And I do this too with small pieces of fish.

Yummy and I do say so myself

Sorry to raise an old thread - am searching MSE for a recipe for HM chicken nuggets! Have just found out how to make breadcrumbs and cover fillets, anyone able to point me in the recipe direction (have checked the grocery challenge thread etc.)

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ceebeeby :)

I don't think you would need a recipe as such - as far as I understand, it's flour egg and breadcrumbs. You could always add spices to the breadcrumbs if you feel so inclined :)

There is also a thread with different methods/recipes here. Good luck :)

As already said you can do either, but tbh I would batch cook them all then they will simply need a thorough reheating when you need them.
As for 'batter' I tend to coat in flour, dip in egg/milk mix, dip in bread crumbs. You can add whatever seasoning you/kids like!
