Thanks Beanie we did and it was one of our most frugal holidays ever. No nasty CC bills for us I think as long as the car hire deposit and accommodation deposit aren’t taken (which we have been assured they wouldn’t be)
Sleep well

Holiday sounds fab, glad you had a nice relaxing time"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Your holiday sounded fab!
I don't think you spend excessively on food. You have a certain standard in food that you like to buy - organic - so that is always going to work out more. But it's good food and you cook from scratch and it always sounds delicious - I wouldn't mind eating at your house regularly!:)
Perhaps have a scout around on the comparison sites re the insurance?

Morning...
Have snuck in a lovely few extra days away. It’s been great, although suspect going back to work will be a strain...not sure what I will return to!!!
Money wise we have tried to be frugal. I still need to do the accounts as we went largely by cash, but making sure we ate at home when we could or took picnics helped a lot. Am off with the DDs shopping today so that could be pricey.
Thanks for your comments on the food bills SSG, think I just need to keep a real close eye on it all. DD1 is moving towards being vegan so we are now increasingly veggie so that all helps bring it down. Last night was toast, HM baked beans (using up an tin or two of mixed beans we had in the larder) and poached eggs..a kind of shukshusha (sp?) which if we keep doing meals like that should be healthy but tasty. The insurances we pay so much for are actually all life and PHI insurance so hard to compare. We did get about half of them years ago when they were cheaper plus the recent ones have all been via TCB. We do probably carry too much, particularly now we are both employed again with employer benefits, but I am not sure I want to take the risk of dropping a few premiums.
I hope everyone is having a great month. Hope to catch up on the diaries soon
