Have you seen this Brizzle? I reckon you'd be good at it

Thanks all...and hello PG :hello: Youve been missed!!! Yep they trashed my account about a year ago..when all the site upgrades (which were actually malfunctions in my book ) were happening ..so had to start again...
Well. Well. Well. Friday was simply a bonanza day. OH got paid, it had backpay and additional hours in it and it was truly a whopping amount. It has all been squirrelled away into the EF, debts and to clear CCs. So helpful and morale boosting. It’s fab. Well done OH:j
When I get paid we will top up the ISA and pay off more debt....
We march on...we have a slightly bigger float in our current account. A low three figures wasn’t hacking it, but it’s still low. It was stressing me out too much and OH too so we have compromised. The other thing we do is we don’t supermarket shop at the moment. I really think that’s making a difference. Ok we live in a city so going to small independent shops is easy but they are also cheaper. I was in a Eastern European grocers this week, after a lot of time on Google Translatebought so much I could hardly walk it home and it was about £40. You don’t get that in Trose
On the bigger more strategic front I had a lovely afternoon with OH last week talking about FIRE and that was a big turning point. He’s referred me to that conversation a few times since and it’s lovely to hear. I think he is finally getting the financial independence conversation rather than the retirement conversation...which to be honest scares him. He loves his work.
Plans for today include: housework, GCSE revision with DD2, a run and some money chat. Whoop
Have a good Sunday all, thanks as always for dropping by

It's great your OH is so positive on FIRE and how this speaks to him in a way that the retirement conversation doesn't! I think you've both found your financial path now.
. Keep it up!

Exactly, you are already halfway there with the composting, chickens and shopping at independents. I reckon you could do it. They are not expecting perfection, they just want to see how ordinary families manage."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Bless you jwil. I will look into it xx0

Hello all :hello:
Hope everyone is good. Am loving the lighter days. Makes such a difference to get an early train in the gloom rather than the pitch dark.
It’s all looking promising on the money front. Keeping a tight grip continues and we continue to put over 30% away to debt and investments. We are making some wiser choices like no big holidays this year and cutting down on food spends, for example we had a lovely simple meal of jacket potato and salad last night. Really hit the spot, and this was chosen over dinner out. We then watched a movie. £3.99. Much cheaper and so so nice. But changes as always need to be planned for.. We will have a daughter at uni tho in the Autumn which will cost...
Exercise is taking a back seat which is a pain. I must do some tomorrow. I went to a class last week and then yesterday so it’s not non existent but I have been travelling a lot so no running which is not a good idea. Need to pick that up again.
House is definitely less clean these days. May try and do some this weekend. Or I may leave until next
Have a great weekend ladies and gents xxx0 -
