I suppose one upside of this lockdown is we don’t have the temptation of impulse buying at the shops. Great that you’re able to throw everything at the cards and will soon be able to hit your next target of the mortgage. 💃🎉I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Thanks SA. Yes after the chat from BoJo yesterday this house is feeling fairly bleak this morning. OH feeling fairly despondent about his working life/plans. But think we all need to take it day by day and maybe the big message for me is to treat 2020 as the year I crush my debts and build up some reserves as well as get properly fit (and strong at yoga
)?!
I think my plans for a leisurely trip round Europe this summer (as well as debt crushing) are dwindling..Sad but also feels like a small disappointment compared to others' grief and pain..

Counting the days down to payday so we can get shot of another card (as a minimum). Have refund coming for an abandoned school trip which will be handy and due another (must make sure its not a voucher) for a weekend away which ain't happening. Sold a large item so its out of my hallway (yay!) and have some more stuff on the Bay. Do need to 'encourage' (whoops, almost said chivvy
) OH to get some more stuff down from the loft as keen to clear and tidy that out completely...currently its about 70% done which is an amazing improvement but we do need to finish and sell what we don't need/can.
Still very quiet around here, but DD2 looking forward to a SD meeting with 1 friend at the common today. She's missed her!
Keeping up the exercise, usually running. Weight is not changing tho, suspect its my age and maybe wine (although not drinking most days now, its a combination of trying to save money and my health). My steps are lower and sleep is improved and I feel much better but I see from my FitBit that its still less than 7 hours a night so maybe I try focussing on that. I am also eating more and more plant based meals - usually vegan during the day - but again not changing anything. Oh well...you gotta try!!
Have a good day all

I spent years doing loads of exercise and my weight not changing. Once I started doing WW and keeping tabs on what I ate the weight dropped off. It’s 80% diet and 20% exercise. I don’t starve myself either or deprive myself on the wine front 😁
Well done on clearing your loft, I dread to think what’s in mine, not been able to get up there for years. I know my very extensive 80s vinyl collection is up there amongst many other things 😱I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
My vinyl collection is also in the loft.

Ha! well the loft was not touched this weekend, couldn't summon up the energy for the last 30%....I might suggest we take some time off over half term and tackle it together. It seemed more important to make the weekend defined, it not being work days but getting out. So on Saturday OH and I walked to one of our lovely parks in Bristol and explored that. Really huge, big areas I hadn't visited before. Fair few people out, especially dog walking, but plenty of room for us all. Other highlights were a 10k run with DD1 and a friend, felt good and nice to chat even if from 2m away! and teaching both DDs how to wrangle a conventional and a vegan roast dinner complete with a pudding....took hours but tasted great and they need these life skills !
We also watched some movies..both by one of our favourite NZ directors Taika Waititi. Girls marching on with their embroidery...if you didn't know us in RL you'd think I was coaching a couple of 18th century impoverished teenagers without dowries to get ahead in life and make a good marriage
Anyway..onto MSE stuff. Another card hit the dust (I won't close it as OH needs it for when his work properly resumes and he can put his work expenses on it) and a big chunk out of another which I will close when its at nought. I aint ever going here again..its tough but so worth it for the feeling of achievement. Never persisted this long before (as long time readers will know!). My credit score has improved a lot even over the last 6 months. Worrying how much 'they' will lend you but its just not where I want to be. The mortgage and a proper EFwill be next...
So feeling strong and optimistic as I canter into a new week of well, lockdown. Not much has changed for us really... and life could be much much worse so always feeling grateful
