Hi everyone, can I join, as you can see from my signature got a far amount of debt to shift, but only paying £65 per month with CCCS. At my last review a couple of months ago, worked out will take approximately 50 years to pay it off. I got really fed up then and almost felt like jacking it all in and just giving up. Hopefully joining this thread will give me more motivation. At the moment, there is no end in sight for us in terms of clearing the debt any sooner. I havent even bothered to work out a DFD, whats the point.
    thanks
  • Hi Dubgirl welcome to the thread. Others will pop up soon Im sure.

  • Welcome Dubgirl. The point is that you get a weird sort of thrill when you manage to reduce your debt free date so work it out and play about with it a wee bit by adding a couple of quid extra and see the difference it makes. Good luck.

    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

Hi all, hope you are ok ISOM(read that you weren't feeling too good on another thread) GET WELL SOON!! Well we're hoping to keep on top of things & so far we are coping quite well. However, overtime at work has dried up big time,so had to rewrite our SOA. We can only just pay everything on our basic wages,as although we have been getting as many debts as possible onto lower interest rates,we have to pay more out on our debts. We were paying around £700 a month towards our debts, but even if we pay the minimum payments, have to pay nearly £800 towards them. It has brought our DFD down by 7 months but we simply cannot sustain paying that amount each month,if the overtime isn't coming in. OH may have a temporary part time cleaning job in a couple of months which will help out big time, but I don't want her to overdo it as she works regular nights, but she insists,as it will be around £50 a week extra. We will have a little breathing space soon when one of our loans finishes in July,as we will be nearly £100 a month better off. Also on the bright side I won't have to use our car so much to travel to & from work,as I have suggested to one of my workmate's who lives nearby that we take it in turns to give each other a lift to work & he's agreed,so this will save us a few quid in petrol. Also get a £400 pre tax bonus next week, which will go towards paying for our hols. Well done Wendy by only slightly overspending on your hols. We all need a holiday & the most important thing is knowing how much you've spent & I think most people do overspend a little on their hols. In the past we too have spent on CC's & worried about it later. We will pay for the holiday as soon as my wages go in bank next week & then concentrate on getting the spending money together. Fortunately we shouldn't need too much spending money as we will be self catering & apart from maybe having a fish & chip dinner & ice creams,we will be cooking everything ourselves, but if we do overspend slightly, then we won't worry about it too much,as this is the first holiday in six years that we haven't paid for on CC's(apart from last year when OH received compensation). Hope everyone else is ok & welcome to the thread Dubgirl. M.I.T. hope your DD enjoys her birthday. All the best to everyone!

I still cant post a SOA as Im waiting to start my new taxiing career so dont know what my income will be , but rest assured as soon as I do there will be a SOA going up and then I might even get my head around the snowball thing:o
  • LTM07 Sounds like its going to be a tough few months but that you have a good plan. I hope nothing unplanned crops up except maybe some more overtime!!

Hi,ITBS,sorry I didn't reply last night mate but had to let DD have her turn on the PC & then I went to bed about 10ish! Hols not til July but we have to pay the remaining balance by early June. Are you off to anywhere nice? We're going to Devon for the week & sharing a holiday house with my Mum & Dad. Wendy I think it will be tough for us,but I guess many people are in the same boat & alot worse off too. I started working where I work now 11 years ago & there has always been overtime,so I guess we got used to the money. There will still be overtime, but it will be alot less than me & my workmates' are used to. 99% of the time we are asked by our boss if we want to work our day off, which pays around £65-£70 after tax,but it looks as though this will be less & less likely. We will manage, but I don't think we will be able to stick to the Snowball calculator every week so our DFD might take a little longer to reach, but as long as the debts cotinue to go down rather than up then we will be happy. We have to be positive though,or we will just end up burying our heads in the sand & go back to square 1! ITBS have a great holiday & good luck with your new career. All the best to everyone.

Post the SOA now and then we can tear that apart, sorry offer alternative spending stratergies to help save some money now. I tried taxi driving once. Deliberatly chose private hire so you know who you pick up and got held up at knife point the first shift. Damn certain it wasn't going to stop me but it did, three shifts i lasted so good luck with the new carreer.

got held up at knife point the first shift. .

I kid you not, my first shift as a bouncer in Liverpool and I had a gun pulled on me, didnt put me off though, had a good 5 years or so out of it .

Im going PH too, good thing is electric locking doors from inside stops any drunks inviting themselves, any possible aggro.(the course was good for one thing then:rolleyes: )

LTM Im going to almeira? Mrs booked it ages ago, never been before but tbh I could do with the break. apparently its near granada so will have a look there too.

Cant stop folks, Im having a barbie:j and a bouncy castle:j

I will bow to pressure and def post soa at weekend then, but I have done quite a bit on it already ( he says trying to wriggle out of it....)
