Thanks for the number, have amended sig accordingly. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can really give a debt wake up call to my OH. He has kind of woken up to it, but I'm sure we could up our debt repayments to £100 per month without too much tweaking, however he is always reluctant to do so as he thinks we will be worse off and missing on even more. I cant think of what else we would miss out on given our poor state of affairs!
  • I kid you not, my first shift as a bouncer in Liverpool and I had a gun pulled on me, didnt put me off though, had a good 5 years or so out of it .

Ah but the difference is i'm just a soft tit!! ..besides 12 hour shifts for £40 wasn't my idea of earning a living.

Can't really advise you without your full SOA to be honest, although from your joining date I guess you will have cut down as much as you can. Personally we have found that shopping at the cheaper supermarkets like Aldi,Lidl etc. saves us a good few quid every month. Also do you buy the newspapers? Cutting this out would save you around £15-£20 a month. We hardly buy he newspapers now & read them online & pick up the free Metro newspaper. Just by doing these two things would easily free up the extra £35 you need & wouldn't affect your lifestyles much at all. All the best!

We dont buy things like papers, magazines we have as subscriptions as birthday/Xmas presents from family members and we already do the cheap shopping, cooking from scratch, I suppose what I want is for my OH to be as concerned as I am, he is happy to leave it all up to me at times and doesnt seem to always take it as seriously as me.

I know where your coming from,as my OH didn't used to be as concerned as me either, but is now just as concerned as me & tries to make our cash stretch as much as possible. Could you meet OH halfway & suggest you pay £80 for the time being. As others have said,it is really important to take things slowly,or it will get you & OH down if you don't treat yourselves now & again. Good luck, back tomorrow, please let us know how it goes.
