I don't feel I am doing as well this month, I seem to have slipped off the wagon when it comes to limiting my social life and have actually been out twice a week for the last three weeks, although I have not bought in rounds, I have still spent a tenner each time .

I also had a nasty car crash yesterday, a young lad switched lanes in front of me to exit a roundabout and smashed into the front of my car. I am going to have to use my meagre savings to pay the insurance excess. I was in the clear regarding blame so am hoping I can claim this back. I am in soooooo much pain today and am recovering at home, have had to type this with my good arm as can't move the other one properly and have pins and needles. It never rains but it pours!!
    DO NOT PAY THE EXCESS!!!
i GUESS YOU ARE NOT FROM UP NORTH but there is a solicitors called Winns, I think in newcastle and they sort everything out for you without you paying the excess. Try and google the name and i'll do some digging but it's worth asking about their services acording to the radio adverts up here.

Now I must point out I have never used them nor have any connection with them but they advertise on quality radio programmes up here soit might be worth looking at their site if nothing else. There are short radio and tv adverts on this link.

P.S. big hugs and well wishes for the recovery and claim.......lol

Remember to put in a claim for personal injury too. Have you seen a doctor? Pins and needles can be a sign of inflamation putting pressure on nerves. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for messages of support everyone re car crash. Pain is getting worse as are pins and needles, I am getting addicted to Nurofen! I visited A&E and my GP and they confirmed it sprains to neck and arm muscles. My insurance company have instructed solicitors as have legal protection on policy. Luckily I get full sick pay from work for up to 6 months (not that I intend to be off past this week!)

At least it has curtailed my social life and the bank account should recover, although my good arm is still ok and I would have no problem picking up a glass of wine. :rotfl:Not good idea to be off sick but seen out in pubs though! Thanks though lovely people and keep focused on that debt busting!
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time

  • Hope you are ok Squirrel. Poor you!
OH had an accident in Nov, again not his fault, he said that the pain got worse a couple of days after the accident, before it started getting better. We didn't have to pay the excess as it was covered by our gap insurance. OH had about a week off work and although he is stiff and achey at times it has got much better - but will take up to a year to fully recover. He should be getting a claim paid out in the next couple of weeks.
Hope that's the end of your unfortunate events.

  • My mind must be totally mashed up as I didn't remember writing the previous post (well I am off work at the mo due to stress :o - but only work stress -being a DFW longhauler is fun!!:D ).

Been busy on the DFW front today. So far I have:
    • Challenged my evil  parking ticket.
    • Requested details of insurance and payments, as well as asking for 'repossession charges' to be removed, from an old car loan account.
    • Applied to open a new bank account and savings account.
    • Written letter 1 in my journey to claim back ppi from my loan account.
Next step - check my credit file so I know exactly what is there and what is statute barred.

Looking forward to updating my signature next week :T - I so enjoy watching the figures go down!

  • Hi all - hope you're all in high spirits on this grey day. Me, I'm completely hungover having necked a bottle of wine watching telly last night. It has left me with a sludgey feeling and just want to go into town and spend lots of money to cheer myself up. AARRGGHH!!

(((HUGS))) Squirrel29. Hope you're feeling better today. I'm currently nursing a sprained ankle having fallen off my 5" stilettos last weekend and it's murder so I understand your pain right now.

Have updated my totals so that looks a bit healthier.:T

I also wouldn't go to A&L purely because of their policy of taking debits before credits. OH's wages went in one month and we had 2 d/d's going off that day. Even though the balance suggested they would be covered, they charged me £35 each for bouncing the payments. Also, when they switched my d/d's from the old bank account, they "missed off" two of them. Consequently, when my fridge freezer conked out in October, the insurance company wouldn't pay up as they hadn't received any d/d payments since March and had cancelled the policy. Not a happy bunny indeed!

Have since gone back to my old bank and can't wait to clear A&L overdraft so that I can close the account. Just my thoughts, but hope it helps.

Gonna go and freshen up now and have a brisk walk. Have a strange smoked salmon craving which needs obliterating.
