  • Well washing machine repair came in at £52 which wasnt too bad. Better than a new machine. Wont be replacing the slow cooker unless a fab deal or a free one on freecycle crops up.

Grocery challenge ok so hoping to have an excess £200 ish at month end to put towards holiday spends which was due to come out of March bonus so doing ok so far.

Yes, well done penguin ! Also ISOM I never thought of it as a syco boost but I see what you mean because i just put into the snowball calculator the original debt and it has come back as being in the year 2032 so I've knocked 5 years off my DFD in a little over 2 years..... That has made me feel a little better since I've just deleted 38000 + music tracks off the computer by mistake !!!!
  • Thanks for the welcome and I am glad to be here!!
 Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014)

  • hi folks. I have decided to concentrate on my CC debts for the minute. I am totally freaked when I include secured loan and car.TBH I see them as essential as I need a car at the moment to be able to work. Once my kids can get themselves out in the morning I will use public transport loads more but I just cant just now. The secured loan was down to building an extra bedroom and renewing windows ( paid off a cc too mind you) so again is essential. So for the mo I am only going to put CC debts in my siggy, I will decide what to do about the others when I finish them .obviously I will still be making monthly payments in the meantime. I will be a mortgage free wannabee after this anyway so I will count sec loan as mortgage. I had just decided in the new year to add them on to debt totals lol and changed my mind already. DFD is March 2012. So I will concentrate on bringing that back a bit but stop putting so much pressure on myself. I can do this I just cant do it as fast as others can. xx
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

HUgs for you MIT - it ca feel quite overwhelming at times. I'm focussing on my CC's at the moment and at the end of the day its not a competition - you just plod away and go at your pace. Some people on here seem to manage to pay an incredible amount and I know that I just couldnt do that without having a breakdown! Just do what you can, when you can and dont worry about other peoples journey! The important thing is we support each other n the up's & downs. Us longhaulers need extra special support as we have such a long way to go! One thing I've realised is the need for some fun and relaxation along the way! Cheap fun but fun none the less! What fun are you having eh?!! Big squidgy hug foryou & hope you feel on top of things soon:)
