Hi all. Mighty impressed with some of your progress & OH & I hope to hit £25k by the end of the year. Won't get our hopes up too high as there's bound to be the odd setback now & again(like this week when we had to fork out over £600 on our car)! Doing as much overtime as i can & whilst it's very tiring,it's a great feeling come payday when there's an extra £100 or so a week that is going towards our debts. OH also picking up extra shifts at work, which is helping big time too.

  • Hi all, hope Easter went well.
Still plodding away looking for ways to save and make more money. Pay day is at the end of the month and, for once, there will be some money in the account and food in the house :j .

My shopping bill should be much lower this month as we have not yet eaten everything we got last month. I will try to set myself a definite food budget this month - last month it was a vague keep track of money and try not to spend too much. Having the groceries delivered really helped.

I was having a look on quidco and noticed that it was offering £50 if you signed up for betfair - unlike most of the other offers you only had to deposit £10 to qualify. I thought it would be worth a go, afterall, even if I bet and lost the whole £10 I would still potentially be up £40. ;) So I had a go, went to their casino bit and played a little zero blackjack and zero roulette, won a bit and lost a bit but finished up with £20 - which i have now withdrawn. I have made £10 for nothing! and could be making another £50 from quidco as well!! (not counting my chickens on the £50 until it is in my account though). :T

A jolly good start to the week. I will continue in true DFW form in a bit by going to the free gym in my appartment block and then reading my library books.

  • Slow progress here but progress at least. I have amended my sig to show how much I have paid back since my LBM. The good news if before I would repay x amount on the loan but add y to the overdraft or cc. This time around I ve not needed the OD for at least two months and then only a bit for a week or so and not a credit card bill in sight that isnt set to be paid in full by standing order each month.

Did my first months spending from the spending diary and it interesting to see where the extra money went. March wasnt as successful as I had throught. Grocery challenge was good and Im ameazed I came in at £253 have spent close to £400 in the past. Pheonixchick look out for the April grocery challenge when it starts the March on has been really friendly and helpful.

  • Groan !! I have failed miserably in March. I have put a weeks shopping on my card. I have spent money that I had available to pay off my overdraft but it has been a really expensive month. The kids have needed one thing after another and I have just been dishing out the cash constantly. Was away yesterday to Newcastle for a meeting with my work and spent nearly £100. I'll get most of that back but  . DD was at orthodontist today and we ended up getting her some clothes that she badly needs. We went into Primark, which is a shop I loathe, and she got hundreds of stuff for £33. I might just start liking it now lol. Pay day next week so hopefully totals will reduce a wee bit.xx
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

Felt a bit down today to be honest. Been hammering the overtime like anything & feeling worn out. Didn't even do too much over Easter weekend apart from on Sunday as was feeling lethargic! Need to do the overtime to have a few treats, but been doing too much. Don't want to feel sorry for myself, but going to cut down on doing so much,as all i seem to be doing is working, eating & sleeping! Not going to give the DFW journey up but need to find a happy medium as doing so much overtime is getting me down. Sorry for the moan!!
