Had a HUGE moment today in that my HSBC loan payment went out this morning, which now brings it under 10 grand, so now ALL my debts are (only!!) four figures. Might not seem much but it feels like a big step in my DFW journey! Out of interest, how much have we paid off this month?? Really want to crack £1000...
Congratulations!! Bet it feels good£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160 -
Yeah it did!! However, when I checked earlier online and saw my loan amount at the start was over £20k two years ago, I was p?*&ed off just how much money I could have saved instead...still, guess there is no point worrying about it now!!Debt at lightbulb moment (June 2007) was £31,738.19Debt as of 1st January 2010 was £21,905.82
Current debts total as of July 2014 £4,3000 -
Well one step forward and may well be one step back for me.
Loan down to £17.2k, £100 in thrift club and cam belt to be done Tuesday :j . However £100 down on wages and OH cant give me his money until the end of the month two weeks later than planned so no spending money.
Hope it works out but not a happy bunny today :j0 -

Managed to spent £170 - just over the £150 budget but much better than the 3/400 I used to spend! Cash makes all the difference in what I put in the trolley!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

I couldn't agree more sweetie. I went over mine in Jan but considering it was only £50 i'm not complaining. But going to be a lot more strict in feb. My plan is to draw the money out of the bank at the beggining of the month and keep it in an envelope or something somewhere and only take that shopping. Will also keep all my receipts in the same place. So not much choice next month when it comes to sticking to budget, however lets not forget next month is still a shorter one although its a leap year (go on girls you know you want to ask him)Keep up the good work everyonexxxLauraOn a mission0 -
Morning all, can I join please. Overall my debts aren't much in comparison to others, but they are beyond me so according to CCCS it will take 6 years and 5 months to pay it all off.
Just a comment on the grocery thing. Someone in work is doing one of these 'faddy' diets and its costing £30 per week. Just for her! She said she will save money on it because she normally spends £70 - £80 a week for her and OH. My grocery budget for me and 20 year old son is £125 per nonth- what on earth does she spend her money on!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Got a feeling she might spend it on too much food?? Maybe why she wants to diet??? sorry I am a cheeky monkey xxxOn a mission0 -
Hi Guys
Grocery spend was ok at £240 and probably another £60 on cash top ups. Need to monitor that really but still better than normal.
Bad news is that OH got called in for his annual benefit medical. They seem set that hes able to work. They were much tougher than usual more like the first time when they stopped benefits and it took six months to get them back. Almost got evicted. We had to add on the depression side as it has an impact but this time he said he didnt think he had depression! Yeah right I wish. Arrrgh I dont know how we will cope if the benefits get stopped. The figure below is just my debt he owes another c 6-7k which he pays. I also rely on the £100 he gives me every month.
I am really worried. Just when I though we were sorting things.:j0 -

I know what you mean, I probably phrased it badly. If I spent that much on food, we'd throw half of it away because we couldn't eat it by the sell by date! I've been economising too long maybe.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
