  • My philosphy, rightly or wrongly, is that I would rather get there later by having the occasional treat than be exhausted and close to a breakdown...plus things like breaking boilers, car etc get in the way!

That what I am trying to do but sometimes I feel I should be doing more and then I think and remember as long as the figure goes down then great :D .

Great news that you have clawed back most of the December unexpected bills.

  • Just out of interest In Search of Me, was that the cost for a fitted new boiler or did you get it repaired? Mine is 20 yrs old, I have heating cover but obviously it is gives up the ghost I will have to replace it. (Gulp)
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time

whooooo nearly 100!!! Yahoo!! QUite incredible that we got there so quickly but great that we can all support each other i what can be a difficult journey ahead! Hopefully some high's too!!
Someyimes we'l all slip wendy - what is important is that we get back on the wagon before too much damage done! Squirrel the boiler was for fixing but it was originally 650 but I got some money back from plumbers! (see diary!). Check your boiler cover - does it not cover you for a new one when yours dies - some do - ie with washing machine cover...worth investigating! If its anything like pet insurance there will be a huge variety in quality of cover!! How are other pepys doing?

Not the end of the world but do you know why? If its legitimate additional costs such as a new boiler then what can you do?

  • I'm exaggerating Wendy. I just feel as if I am spending a fortune at the moment. I have just decorated my kitchen(not quite finished the papering) I broke one of the worktops so that was an insurance job to get that done but I had to pay £180 of my own money. I then had to get vinyl for the floor. Last room in the house to get done so am chuffed with that ,I just feel that there should have been another couple of hundred available there for debt. But, my kitchen is smashing :). I've actually managed to get rid of nearly £2k this year it's just it all happenend at the beginning of the month and I am at a stalemate until end of month again. x
