[STRIKE]My[/STRIKE] Our DFD is 13.5 years away which I think is around the term of a life sentence.
I've been hanging around this site just over a month, my DFD is December 2013.
I have a diary but it's not very interesting, I'm doing it more for me than anything else so I wouldn't bother unless you're an insomniac.
I'm not going down the DMP route as I have a couple of funerals to pay for in the next few years (me and DH) and so I don't want to cut off our credit line completely otherwise we'll have to be put into the recycling bin.
My signature says it all -Starting debt is £325,909.93. Looking forward to the next 13.5 years.

    Hope you let us in

    Thanks

I rather foolishly stuck my mortgage obn my snowball when I set it up and it's a bit difficult trying to unpick it from my total outstanding debt.
I need to set up a new snowball without the mortgage and once I do that I'll be fine - I just need a few hours on my own with my statements...

paid off virgin with a bt, for £700 balance for two weeks they charged me £7 interest...works out at over 2% a month. I queried it and they said they charge me 29.9% a year! It doesn't add up.
Account closed and told them please don't contact me again! Ever!

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all,

I've been surfing round several boards but felt a bit to shamefaced to post as I felt everyone seemed to have so little debt compared to me. Even behind the anonymity of my keyboard I'm still embarrassed by how much debt I've managed to run up!!

I've just stumbled across this board and it seems a perfect fit :o)

I had my LBM January 1st this year, sat down at the kitchen table and dragged out all the financial paperwork out, did some maths and nearly had a heart attack...£42,270... and nothing to show for it. We don't own our house or our cars outright, what a mess.

Hey ho, I've got stuck in and found lots of useful advice on MSE and am being a lot more sensible now. Have completed a snowball and our DFD will be August 2016, that said I'm 40 in January 2016 so will aim for NYE 2015.

Was wondering if I could join your gang, I don't take up much room and am pretty much house trained ;o)

    Thanks

    Lilly x
    LBM = Jan 1st 2013 - £42,000 owed DFD = Christmas Eve 2014 :D:D

well done on taking the first step and taking control Lily, now you know about this problem it's time to start to attack it, every pound or every penny you reduce it by is a step closer to being debt free.
