Just wondering how everyone is getting on and bumping this one up the ladder. Ive been hanging out with the NSD threaders and found it has been a great tool to curb my spending and teaching me how to cut costs.

just opened an account with first direct, they say they'll give me £125 if I pay my salary in every month, Been messed about by santander and I don't need their overdraft anymore, now it's paid off
debts are now down from £27k to 13k in two years...interest rates of 29.5% are gone and they now average about 7% over 3 cards, well accounts. I destroyed one card, closed one account, and keep the other as emergency but I don't know why. Made a mistake this month by buying shoes on amazon and not realising I paid by credit card, now deleted, they've charged me 25p interest for a week!!! Feels good even though it's taken two years to get here, I feel a debt free date coming up...I thought I'd never get here! but the end may well be insight...
Keep going all.LBM; Nov 2010 27206.14

Well done andy g, you have paid a huge amount off. I will be glad to say goodbye to high interest credit cards ! I will not be applying for any more credit ever only a mortgage. I have indeed learnt my lesson and the power of saving

Huge, massive apologies for being absent for so long; its been a tough few months with health probs and boiler dying so cc's taken a major bashing but now time for austerity measures and back to basics (again).
Great to see people supporting each other and chatting along the way. I do sometimes wonder if the end is ever in sight as life gets in the way...should be debt free by end of next year but then car is at stage where its going to need replacing...:(
Plan for now is back to basics (spending less, cut down on heating bills, take lunch to work, no craft stuff - use what I have) and get stuck in. I do find that I go in fits and starts...
Also trying to get fit so have membership to local gym and hope that 2013 is going to be a good year. Lost 6 stone+ last year after having my stomach stapled but now need to start toning. Fighting low mood has also been a struggle last couple of months and hoping exercise will help lift mood and confidence.
So Im back; no more a good example than I was before but still plodding away and trying! big hugs for all and hope to get to know you all in the year ahead.Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
In search of me its lovely to have you back((hugs)) im sorry you have had health issues and feeling low in mood. Dont hesitate to post on here i always check in daily and see if anyones posted. Im about 20 months from freedom ( sounds like we are in prison) haha. DONT be so hard on yourself with dates and things, if you need a new car so be it save a little and pay a little down your still making a difference to your outstanding negative wealth
.
I was getting hung up on negative wealth freedom before 30 but do you know what just knowing its in sight it enough now. Managed to get a 0% balance transfer and so im overpaying other stuff asap! Its boring but i cant take my eye off the ball or i start buying silly things lol
Hope everyone else is ok, its really nice to see you back isom xxxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. LBM 08£77240.69 Current outstanding total £36083.01 Paid so far = £41157.680
