Hi folks, I haven't been on here for a while - laptop broke down (again), then we went away for a few days camping which we couldn't really afford but it's an annual family get-together so couldn't really get out of it.
I had a terrible time trying to stick to my NSDs last month, I think I only managed about 5. I'm going to have to do better this month though as due to our camping trip plus some very expensive car repairs we are absolutely skint.
On a more positive note, the sun has been shining today and I'm looking forward to a nice long walk on the beach tomorrow.
Hope you are all ok and have a lovely weekend

Well I got a kick up the bum when a ddm bounced...totally my fault as forgot to add extra money when there was an extra payment in ddm account which put it out of whac. Good though as feel its been the kick up the bum I need. No spend days here I come! Between now and payday (20th) Im aiming for 8 which is roughly half - not counting petrol as thats a necessity and with the miles Im doing at the moment dont want to sabbotage myself before I start by setting unachievable goals! Main thing is no craft shopping and taking lunch to work...again! Debt busting is soooo belugh sometimes but as always only have myself to blame...

Hello in Search of Me, can i join the long haul supporters?
Have about £40k worth of loans creditcard and CCJ's. No idea how long it will take...hoping it will be by the time I retire (21 years unless the pension age goes up even more!)
I haven't been able to get the snowball calculator to work for me as nearly all my creditors have agreed to stop adding interest and are excepting minimal payments ie £1 per month.
Anyhow I seem to be able to set up a budget and make some cost cutting measures for a short while. But I have difficulty actually spending the money I save on the debts! So they are not going down! I guess it seems such an enormous amount that the odd £100 here and there seems not worth it and I spend it.
So I thought that this forum may help motivate me and keep me on the straight and narrow.
Do I get a number?

Welcome TC. ISOM will give you a number next time she is on. Although it always seems pointless be assured that anyhting paid off your debts is worth while. I pay really small amounts sometimes as they all add up. Today I paid £4 but over the month I have overpaid by £130+ and mostly from small amounts. Each penny you pay is a penny less that interest can be charged on. Good luck xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
My OH and I owe £36000 as well as £26,000 loan with Northern Rock (NRM) plus mortgage.
We will in be debt for ever - no question.
I can't ever seem to get ahead and it makes me so weary.
Support from this thread would be great!!!

Please can I join. I've just worked out how much I've reduced my debt by since October and therfore by what amount on average each month. I then worked out it will take me until July 2018 to pay it off at this rate!
I didn't think it would take this long and I think this is a 3rd LBM.
1st (October 08)- oh I have some debt!
2nd (October 10) - OK I better do something about debt!
3rd (just now)- yikes it's really going to take some years sorting out this debt:eek: I don't want to wait till I'm 42 (even if it is a most auspicious number)
Are there anymore lightbulbs I need to look forward to?0 -
