    Debt-free and Proud!
Fingers crossed for the job! Is it a public sector role? Is there relative confidence or  about the renewal with everyone?

Yes, i work for 'Children and Young People's Services' in Devon and there are a lot of cuts being made.

I won't find out until mid Feb if my contract will be renewed. Which in itself is very scary as i won't have much time to find a new job and can't afford to be out of work.

My line manager has said that they are doing everything they can to make sure they won't lose anybody but she can't promise anything. :( I am fairly hopeful but can't help worrying.

  • Thanks Happy,
I've thought of you often. Last year just flew by in a whirlwind of so much stress and exhaustion. But, you gotta pick yourself up and start again sometimes. So that's what I shall do.

Very nervous about calling CCCS. I know everyone on here says how lovely they are, but still...

How are you? Your debt busting looks like it's going well :-) Is everything good in your world?

    xx

    Good luck RT

The fact that you are able to be ready to deal with it again after so many hard knocks shows you will get there. It could be worse you are almot 5% better off before LBM some end up going backwards.

Well done Baby plum on doing so well.

Sarah Needle - Time will fly by!

Robert R - I do the same with ccs leave the minimum dds going out and overpay when possible. It takes too long for the banks/companies to amended the dd amounts.

  • Thanks Keeping Positive :-)

Although, my signature isn't up to date, that's how it was last March sadly. Will redo it once I have the exact figure. That was also the figure for both my partner and I. Our finances are still very linked as we have shared mortgage, an HP loan etc, but will sort out a number for just me.

Proud to be dealing with my debts
DFD - June '13, aiming for December '12
  • Hi folks. I was a bit disgusted at myself the other day. I had guessed that I would owe Argos about £ 500 after Christmas but turns out I owe £688 !!. As I said on my diary when I go off the rails I go right off them. I cant even remember what I bought which is a disgrace.Never mind it hasn't changed my dfd just made my final payment a lot bigger. I am on it now though and will get rid of this by May according to my snowball.
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

me too :D not in Devon though in London Ive escaped onto maternity mid redundancy times so Im expecting a letter at any time

RT - Welcome back - I dont know you from last time but glad to have you back and sure i'll get to know you over time. Im so sorry youve had a rubbish time recently just keep your chin up and im sending virtual ((hugs))

RR - I cant have the DD's set up as I like to make sure I know exactly what is going when as we pay different amounts every month - Im a bit of a control freak lol. The meal planning is what we try to do to definately helps, Although we have survived on mash and chicken dippers for a few days now :p we have no cash this month at all due to the redundancy of oh and my work deducting a large amount, anything incoming has to go on bills and Im just thankfull that this month the Car insurance is up for renewal so thats a bit less that needs to go out and the next 2 months are free of council tax - we're about 900 short for feb and march

Just had the water board round as they have connected a meter wrong and are billing us for other peoples properties!!!!
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
