I've got quite a bit of debt (see sig), but OH has much much more and the dire credit rating to boot. So I am doing all I can to help him beat the debt collection agencies!
Our plan is to get debt free in around 5 years, so that we can maybe think about starting a family (we are both mid-20s at the mo).
Some of your posts are so inspirational- hope we can take control of our debt as you all are doing!
Welcome to the thread moneysavingnovice, good luck with the debtbusting! Hopefully if you can get things on track now with your OH, by the time you are DF most of it will be about to fall off his credit record.
Keep posting!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Hi folks. How did scan go climbin? Great news on the cheques. I did my weekly menu plan today and got my shopping in for £37.90 :j. Am well pleased with that as I actually managed to get some exxtras and a few goodies for the kids. Just shows what you can do with a bit of effort. Bought £20 of petrol too so hopefully that'll last me over the weekend. Still got some money left so we'll see what happens over weekend and then I'll decide what I am doing with it. Decisions decisions, I just wish one of them could be to do what I want with it never mind pay a bill or buy an essential. I want to be able to be frivolous but hey that's what brought me here in the first place. Hope you are all good xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Evenin all! Hope all is well?
Great news on the shopping front MIT, and the scan was great ty - baby showing up as 2 weeks big for dates and hospital ken to keep an eye on us. Also lots of blood tests due
I narrowly avoided frivolity today, MIL offered to take us to one of my fave shops, but hospital appts took so long we missed out!
Keep your chin up, MIT. The days will come when you no longer have to worry like you do. You may have to budget forever but will be free to enjoy your money too, if that makes sense? I'm just thinking of my own situation but whatever I try to say comes out wrong or condescending or something! Anyway, am sending happy vibes! :A
My mum is coming to visit tomorrow, woop woop! Plan to give my debt days a rest if poss, we'll see! Goin to the dog racing on Saturday night in honour of my late father in law with a huge group of friends and family. Fingers crossed I have a big win and can pay off my debts and/or buy a house! LOL :rotfl:I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

Hope you enjoy the dog racing, and win big lol!
MIT - it will be fantastic when we all get there and our money is all our own won't it! Keep at it!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Everyone is doing well on here and we are all nice and positive which is good. Glad scan went ok. I used to love getting scans when I was pregnant.
