hmmm still deciding but thanks - was wondering if I would get judged for going on holiday but would be miserable if all I did was pay off debt. Hoping to ask for birthday money towards holiday fund aswell. I think not using credit cards is a good idea too :) Thinking of opening an ISA as a holiday fund. Depends on whether I get a lower stress lower paid job or not.

We don't have foreign holidays but we do go away in our (un)trusty campervan! I think it's important to have a break to recharge your batteries, and don't see a problem with having a holiday when you are in debt as long as you can do so manageably.

Hi everyone! Hope the weekend was good for all?

I am doing my usual 'Monday debt day'. Am trying to help with my friends stuff as well as my own. Hers done for now, until I get her credit reports, and some CCA requests.

I paid one of my debts off this weekend, and another will be done when they cash a cheque I sent! :j

Boyfriend has offered to pay off a few more over the coming months (we're looking @ those around £200-£400 outstanding) so am going to work on a budget for him, so he can still save around £250 a month, pay his bills etc. Feeling very positive today! :)

Well done on paying a debt! What a great feeling - here's to the next one!

    Hi

Thanks for that - well I suppose I have come quite far. Faced my debts head on and stopped spending on credit cards, live within a budget, checked my cedit file. Paid off about £7K in a year (£32K to go!!!) and dramatically reduced my outgoings.

My long term aim is to be debt free by Feb 2015 which will be the last payment of a loan but I may be able to overpay and do it sooner. But short term is to get rid of those credit cards one by one. They're very slowly reducing.

I'm gonna get fit and start running too.

Congratulations on the growing family and wedding. What's the plan for the wedding?

    Thanks again for the reply

Hi Nelly, 7k in a year is great! Well done!

Just got back from doing a BIG food shop. Used so many vouchers & took advantage of so many deals (only on food we wanted) that I saved a THIRD off my shopping and got enough to stock my kitchen for a long time for £50!

    :money:

Sending happy vibes to everyone tonight & sharing the love! :lovethoug:dance:
