In the first post on this thread I am number 19. It was 4 months after my light bulb moment and I knew it was going to take a few years.

Today 18th June 2010 I am debt free. £64276 paid off.

Good luck to those who are on their way. I have continued to read the thread and it has helped me when I can see I was not the only one finding it hard to stay consistently motivated....ups and downs are OK....just coming back and reading the stories of others has helped me when I have fallen off the wagon, or needed to slow the debt busting for a while.

    Thank you

    Spirit

Wow thats fab news spirit! Well done you! :D Ive changed your status to debt free :) Can you say a bit about how long it took and what you did to get there and what has changed since your lbm? I know I would love to hear a bit more about your journey :) Meanwhile a huge well done from me! So chuffed for you...did you feel a weight off your mind, dance round the sitting room etc?

:TFirstly, congratulations Spirit! Have a wonderful weekend!

 I have been reading a lot on this forum and wondered if I can join please! I have just started my DMP with CCCS and at the moment my DFY is 2069! However, at the moment I am unable to work but will be looking for something part-time in a few weeks. Also, I have not yet written my best-sellers, so the year will hopefully be much sooner! Also, as I am 56 in July I really, really need it to be earlier!

This is a fantastically supportive group and I look forward to joining this very select club of lovely people.

  • Hi frugal chic, I'm sure isom will distribute numbers when she bobs in :-) I'm sure 2069 can soon be dwindled down :-) good luck on your journey :-)

:j Thank you for your welcome to this exclusive club Happytogetdebtfree!

I've already gained a load of exciting information on all kinds of subjects on this great site, including the meal planning (which I thought I was already good at, but looks like I'm not!), and ideas for increasing income ..... etc.

Looking forward to being with all of you to offer support and to hopefully have plenty of laughs on the way. A sense of humour is so important in almost all circumstances I feel.

Off to the pantry to see how many delish meals I can muster with what I already have. Must join NSDays as well.

Sorry for the ramble but I'm really beginning to love this frugality thing.

    Good weekend to all
