PS - Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

Some people on here have scared me in the past! :o

I know the feeling - I got quite a fright the first time I posted my SOA. It took me two years to come back again. But I was a bit more thick-skinned this time and sussed out the locals before I posted an SOA again ;).

I just remind myself that often you don't know the person responding to you and it may be that they have a social commuincation problem (I'm a speech and language therapist so I would think that ;)) rather than it being them being a muppet (or any stronger word of your choosing!).

Glad you came along tobjoin in in the end :).

    Mrning all,

Off to London today down the wonderful M25. How depressing!

I have to agree that this is by far the friendliest thread I have ever encountered in MSE (see the acronims there?! - surely thats worth my next 'star'?!)... sorry, I get easily distracted.....

I have been on some of the credit card and loan threads and they take one look at my signature and suddenly I'm geting barraged with judgemental and frankly rude people who seem to know my entire financial situation and my life after just one post, or so they think anyway. Horrible.

I think this thread works so well cause we all know we are in it for the long run. We've all down 'hard time' with our debts and we know there will be more to come, so we have that common bond. We've conquered the initally fright of confronting our debts and we've settled into the long slow attrition of paying them off (sorry, I didn't mean that to sound as depressing as it it did!). Its funny though how after I had been 'offline' for six months after the birth of my daughter that this was the first thread I came back to and have stuck with. I think that says it all....

I hope this thread continues to be as nice as it always is and as welcoming as it always is - which frankly I don't doubt for a second.

As I always say, we will get there in the end and one day I'm sure we will look back on all this and laugh. Chin up peoples!

Catch up with you later if I ever escape the M25!

  • Ah talsiker ive just wiped a tear :D, always nice to know there are nice threads among the not so nice, i totally agree about the credit card and loans board they are like vultures waiting to pounce, sometime i go for the heated rant at people lol finished nights watching crap tv :D yay hay .... im a firm believer of people helping people so when i win the lottery :D il think kindly of those who have been so wonderful here x

  • I almost feel we should have a thanksgiving service for us all after Talisker's glowing report! :rotfl: But it is amazing how people feel they can judge you immediately with a 'well you must be very stupid & irresponsible mustn't you?' Even before they have any idea of the circumstances in which you gained the debt. I'm not saying I've fantastacilly clever in racking up this debt but not all of it's been reckless spending & I just don't how they have the cheek!! Glad you've finished nights happy-how often do you have to do night shifts? Must be hard work!
It's sunny & lovely down here at the moment Talisker so hopefully you'll have a nice time :D
