oo scooby, interesting! Im learning the violin at the moment and trying to earn how to read music which is hard going!! Its part of my remain sane campaign while work is sorted...ie things to do/small projects.
Happy really pleased you had a chat with your mum and have a plan. Baby steps I always feel is the best way to go. Debt can be hugely overwhelming and affects all parts of your life and its no wonder that it gets to you in the end...just keep plodding me thinks.
Am meeting a friend for coffee this morning which will be nice! Were going to pop into a craft show and I want to get some ideas so that I can hopefully set one up with a friend near Christmas. Have a great day all and keep plugging away at it. Yoga can be great for stress I am told!

    Hello everyone,

Back from my little trip to aberdeen. What a journey - why I decide to drive I will never know! Had a lovely christening service for my daughter, she was SOOO good and didn't cry a all or try and grab the minister's glasses, which is always a bonus. Also, didn't spend nearly as much as I feared i would and my wife got some money off her Dad which was helpful!

Back to the debt busting though. Hope everyone is ok. HPGDF - I've been reading your posts and I hope you are ok. Sounds like you have been having a terrible time. Glad you are still chatting though and please stay with us, we will do our best to kep your cheery.

Hello to all newbies out there, good luck with the debtbusting - as I say to everyone, it won't last forever and we will all look back on this one day and laugh. Well, maybe not laugh, but certainly give a big sigh of relief!

Trying desperately to balance my debt-busting with the 'life' at the moment. we are having a small holiday in June up near Berwick. I paid it all up a few months ago, thanks to a good haul of overtime, but now I have to concentrate on spending money. I am determined for the first holiday EVER not to use the credit card AT ALL. I am ebaying like mad to save up money and I have to keep reminding myself that for the moment it is better to save the money than use it to pay off debts otherwise I will just end up having to use the card anyway. I am determined to have some fun while I am away - I work and worry myself to death with all this debtbusting and I need a break - I'm not doing all this so I die from stress in ten years time - no thanks!! So, hopefully i can raise enough money to have a nice relaxing holiday. Figners crossed.

An update on my bizarre and probably uneffective system for paying credit cards - Capital One have now refused to do anymore balance transfers (probably cause i've been doing one a month for the past two years - don't ask!) so they are now my 'hated' card and I have elected they will get the minimum payment each month and I will favour my Bank of Scotland card again. Gives me some strange perverse pleasure which I can't describe or replicate anywhere else. Think I need to see someone......

Anyway my chikadees, i hope you are all well and I will check in with you all soon!

Hey Happy, Ive been through the medical route myself, I decided to try to avoid pills and was referred to a counsellor instead (Im one of those people that has to understand why - its very irritating!) Its been a tough slog, but I cant say how good its been for me.

Talk through your options, if you think it could be for you ask for a referal to a self help counsellor, and in the meantime - be compassionate to yourself. Try to look at yourself as you'd look at a friend, would you be down on them like you are to yourself? We're our own worst enemies!

I'm not an expert, but Im happy to provide backup if you'd like. ((hugs))

Ok, I can't wait any longer - big announcement everyone. i'm going to be a Dad - AGAIN!! Number 2 is on the way! My wife is 9 weeks and had an interim scan as she was a bit concerned how she felt. Everything is fine and the baby is well. Due date is 16th November!

Well, thats galvanised things even further. The contents of my loft must die! EVERYTHING goes on ebay. I must clear at least one card by the time the newborn arrives. My target is my current hated card - Capital One - which has £4200 on it. I think it should be possible.

I only found out a few weeks ago, and have been dying to tell everyone but had to wait til we knew everything was ok. Don't quite know how to feel about it yet - very excited and completely terrified all at once. Sleepless nights, here we go again!
