  • I just thought it was funny, that's all.

Spirits are waaaaaaaaaaaaay down right now. We are in the middle of re-mortgaging which is proving to be a right headache and all over the xmas period too.

In addition to that, the charitee who's committee we are on is going belly up and we have been left to pick up the pieces.

Money seems to be flying out rather than coming in too.

    See you all again soon.

  • Good evening all,

Jacks - glad to hear your hubby is ok, but know what you mean by the 'what ifs'

Hubby is working away all weekend, but will be home t'moro with an extra £700, not bad for 2 days work, will use most of this for debts, but will also use some of it to finish off xmas shopping, plus hubby needs £100 for his cbt test on Monday.

I tallied up my total debt today and since my lbm a month ago we've managed to shave £1240 off the total, which while not loads is a start and I'm really proud of us.

I'm sometimes finding it hard to keep myself so motivated so at the start of next year (once xmas is out of the way) I'm gonna set myself little targets with regards to paying off debts, instead of thinking of my debt as a whole £45k  I'm gonna cut it down into creditors and work at paying off 1 creditor at a time (obv while still making minimum payments to the others) does that make sense? I think my hubby's Vanquis card has the highest APR, plus this is the card we've had the most trouble with, so come 2nd January I'll be setting little tasks to pay this off pronto. The credit limit is £1000, the balance is £1005.01 and the minimum payment each month is £50.

Between now and then I will be using the cashback and survey sites like a mad woman :p

*And so the long haulers journey continues*

  • hey 1 step things have a way of working out. I tried to remortgage and mortgage company said that they couldnt offer me what I needed. I said to the lass that I was going to get about £1k per year rise and would that make a difference. She said no sorry you are still short. I asked how short as it was quite a good fixed rate and she said 'we can lend you £6000.00' I nearly fell of my chair in shock and then started peeing myself laughing at how incongruous it all was. Your situation with mortgage has got to better than that  btw I owe £51k
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Thanks honey! I am sure things will work out but they always look so bleak when you are down eh!

Perhaps after a good sleep I'll feel more positive.
