hi there,
bt the flat is going and tbh it feels a bit of a relief in some ways...have been chasing my tail for years and its good to stop and readress, take decisive action plus satisfying getting rid of stuff which I've just felt has dragged me down in some ways, although just sold one of my fave prints which was upsetting...Cats all now found homes and they will be well loved and I'll hear how they are getting on - maybe even have a cuddle occasionally.

We are allowed £400 per month for groceries, which I thought was terribly generous of payplan (2 adults and one toddler). I'm sure we'll manage to budget but it's already easy to see where a lot of money was going (red wine and vodka). As this is the first month of the plan it is slightly confusing because of the switch of accounts and changes in some of the direct debits etc but by next month the situation will be clearer.
We have managed to spend about £150 in the past 2 days though!

Waves to all the new posters on here - welcome!!
ISOM - Good luck with all the changes you are making, hope selling up is the right decision for you in the long term. Re pets, my dog doesn't cost me that much at all and I couldn't bear to give my pet away so I think you are very brave to do all of this.
Not much debt busting going on apart from survey vouchers and converting what I can into money for Christmas presents to spread the cost and not have a mad rush and run out of money when my stupeeed employers pay me 2 weeks early and then make me wait 6 weeks until next payday in Jan.

Hi everyone, I am a member of this long haulers board, but check in very rarely. So I figured instead I will check in frequently and make some friends.
Hope that's okay with everyone?
DH and I have joint debt of about 21K now, one year after we joined this fab site. We are working hard at getting it down with credit record intact. It is a hard slog because with two kids there is always something to spend on.
If there is one money saving/debt busting step you could recommend what would it be?

jojob (181)
there you go and welcome!
I can say in all honesty that rehoming the cats is the most painful part of this and to say its heartbreaking is an understatement but needs must. Bottom line is that I am in a very precarious situation financially and have to do ALL I can to get out of it. If I dont then I'm stuffed. Simples! I got myself into this and wit the support, love and help of family and friends I will get through all of this. The flat is just part of the situation at the moment and in this at least I can do something positive. I started again when I was alot younger and when I was divorced so will do it again. Maybe just gods way of asking how many times I need that same lesson...buy, sell, move on and start again...3rd time lucky eh! Anyway bath running so off to lie in it for a bit!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
