  • Haven't posted for ages, but have been trying to keep up with the thread.... Anxiously awaiting pay day to see how much OH is going to get paid... he has been off work for quite a while, but thankfully is back now. I worked out that we are going to be about £400 short, which is not good, but thats assuming my calculations are correct :o Oh well, only two days to wait!

  • Hello

Hope pay is higher than expected Sarah

Poorbabe, Sorry to hear things are carp. I understand about taking out another loan as ccs are such a pain. I am tempted as well but thankfully my APRs on the CC are ok if that was to change Id consider another loan. Its not failure unless you run up the ccs again.

  • hi all,
Well if it helps decluttering feels great! So for todays handy hint I would say flog it, make money and pay off what you can! As for loans I'd try really, really, really hard not to...they dont encourage you to cut back and you just end up with more debt...I know its hard but try not to if you can. Also if things are that bad would it be worth ringing cccs to see if they can help? I resisted for ages and rang this week and they were lovely...

Thanks for those kind words gang. I went out for free drinks/canapes with a girlfriend last night and was entertained by a older greedy couple who had their hands ready to grab at each and every tray that went past (well the wife did, hubby just sat and received his portion):eek::rotfl:

The staff were so fedup with their antics that they resorted to heading out one fire exit and entering by another, just to avoid them. That only lasted a few mins til the wife clocked what was happening :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, I'm going to try to get an idea of how much extra I'll have to pay on the Virgin card from October and, ISOM, I do actually have some bits lined up I can sell. It's the usual story, I need to stir my assets and the current postal strike doesn't help - so I'll wait til that is resolved. I hadn't thought about CCCS as I've always felt I was handling my debts, but maybe I should look into it.

After yesterday's rant and last night's booze I feel more positive about it and will examine as many options I can come up with, leaving the loan as a very last resort.

  • Well done ISOM! Sounds like you're really getting life sorted out!
Not much happening here, second job going well, actually enjoying it! Using some to reduce debt and the rest on home improvements that are needed. Probably should be using it all on the debt, but flat looking great just now and enjoying getting things done. After thats all done will use the extra cash to throw at the CCs.
Hope everyone enjoys the sunshine today!
