Hi there everyone - it's my first day joining the gang :)
Thanks to ISOM for the allocation of a number and the welcome.

My signature says it all......... long story.....and too many things that I regret sincerely.

BUT - it's time to sort it out once and for all, so that's what I'm going to get on and do.

It's just me and my teenage son in the house - oh, and a yorkie and a moggy -and I've recently split from my bloke of 6 years standing.

Looking forward to chatting and sharing with you all :)

    Hi all

Nothing much to report really. I slipped last month and used the bank's money (allowed overdraft) so things will be very tight this month and possibly next . Debts are going down very slowly, so that's the one good thing on the horizon.

Fortunately am still able to have a social life as I'd built that into the budget. Just means I can't do anything 'off the cuff' as there's no money for such things. Still, each day that passes is a day closer to being debt free :T

    Stick with it guys.

Hi all! Got a letter through today from Halifax with a 7.92% LOB offer, so transferred £2000 from Mint card at 17.9%!! The Mint card is the one crippling us at the moment too as we spent on it earlier in the year so most of our payment is swallowed up by the interest!!

Good for you ISOM! As they say every little helps. Had statement from Nationwide today saying OD gone up another 1% to 18.9%! There's always something to knock you back a little:mad:!

Hi again everyone, not checked in for a while as have fallen seriously off the wagon, but have decided we really do need to sort ourselves out once and for all so I have updated my signature at the bottom, it's quite depressing to see it's no less really than this time last year, have paid off at least £7k in that time but I guess it has all been spent again

oh well, onwards and upwards (or downwards lol!) me and hubby are going to sit down this week and go through all our debts again and plan better, we do have plenty left over each month to service the debt but half of the time we spend the money on treats/holidays etc instead.

Our mortgage comes up for renewal in 18 months time and while it is so low we really need to crack on and get a lot of it paid off

I need to learn to strike the balance between overpaying the debt, not using the CC again and not skinning ourselves so much that we have no life (as that is what leads to the blow out again), any advice on this one?

I think for me its about pacing yourself...also knowing your weak points and planning for them! I tend to rebel so for me no point going all out so plodding works for me...will take me longer to get there but I will get there in the end - will just take me longer than some! Its just finding what works for you!
