Sorry everyone is feeling a bit uuurgh at the moment. Going to see if I can get a good price for some gold jewellery I don't wear anymore. Fingers crossed but I'm not too hopeful.

ISOM, that is very kind of you, I'm touched ( I like cross-stitch). the making jam bit made me laugh! although seriously I have that menu choice on my bread maker, perhaps I should give it a go. Looking forward to chinese as the only chinese food I normally cook is stir fry, not very adventurous.
Lucielle - good luck with the jewellry

When are you having the chinese? Offered £185 for 3 rings and a chain. I haven't taken the offer but at least I have a benchmark if needed in the future.

Hi KP, thanks for that, we are already on a DMP with CCCS. re Birthdays, OH got a tip from work, he's a lorry driver and with that we are going to get a chinese takeaway tomorrow night on my birthday, so looking forward to that. OH wont touch my feet!!! with a new day, I think I am going to try to not worry about it for the next few days, as it will only put me in a miserable mood for the birthdays. I think I have resigned myself to our lifestyle at the moment and try and make the best of it. x
Hi dubgirl! I know exactly where you are coming from regarding your debts, it really does seem hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel doesn't it. We have never looked into the DMP option so don't really know how it works, but the one thing we have done is any extra cash we earn through overtime etc., we put half of it towards our debts & save the other half towards car repairs, birthdays & Xmas etc. We too have resigned ourselves to the fact that these debts are with us for many years & have decided to do our best not to let things get us down. I would say we are half way between being DFWs & living a 'normal' life. We did try & clear our debts quickly at first, but as you say we ended up taking 1 step forward & 2 back & they must have been the most miserable & horrible first few months of our relationship. Better to slowly clear debts & be happy than clear them ASAP & be miserable most of the time in my opinion. We have set what we see as a realistic DFD & if we gain ground on that, great, but if not then so be it. Chin up & take care, all the best.

  • Hello

Great news on the debtbusting front Happytogetdebtfree and the £185 benchmark offer Lucielle :money: .

I have taken up Body shop at home for a hobbie. At the moment not too :money: as I have spent £30 ish on ebay and £95 on the kit. I should get it back and with any luck make a profit as long as I dont go too mad on nice makeup n stuff for me :D . I want to add something to my life other than work and kids. They are of course both important but I want an excuse to go out and talk to people and have a laugh.

Enjoy the chinese Dubgirl, I so hope things improve soon for you.

Yes I hope your OH gets the job Happytogetdebtfree, my OH is around £300-£400 better off a month through doing extra shifts & it really does help so an extra £800 or £900 a month for you will be a huge help. KP it's nice to pick up a new hobby & it will be an added bonus if you can make a profit too. I have started weight training again with my Brother so that's a good way of taking my mind off things & is quite stress busting too. It is also a bonus that we are using my Brother's weights in his cellar rather than forking out money by going to the gym. Enjoy the Chinese Dubgirl & have a great birthday tomorrow. All the best to you all!!

  • Hi everyone, thanks for your good wishes, ISOM I have pm'd you. Looking forward to tomorrow, although got to work boo hoo. One bit of good news, aside from 2 new front tyres and a replacement bulb, the car passed its MOT today. that has cheered me up as well.
  • Hugs all that need them...people seem generally to be in the doldrums and I wonder whether the emergency of christmas decorations has been the final nail in the proverbials as a reminder, as if we need it wit credit crunch an almost hourly reminder, that we're still skint...all I would say is use it as an advantage to be innovatve and show love in new ways...tell the ad man to foff and also from my pov maybe try and remember what christmas means...
dubgirl havent had a pm - just checked...!! oo crossed there it was!
hugs all...off to bed but Alfie the one balled cat sends extra special lurve to you all...
