  • Morning everyone. Thanks for your support for my recent post, I did feel good to get it off my chest :D

Still no idea of the repair costs for my computer and I didn't get the Freecycle tv but have decided to leave that for the time being as I'm getting used to my pink/green/blue tv!

Cycling to work continues with less stomach churning and a tad more confidence. Who knows, I might even be able to take one hand off the handlebars to signal right or left-hand turns before Christmas :rotfl:

    Have a good'un today everyone :T

Hi Happy, ours is 2 weeks later,29th August! We have been engaged for six years & did get info on a few places that we would like to have married but the prices were way out of our league & even if we had no debts still would have found the prices too high! We have found an excellent venue in the city centre at a fraction of the price that we would have had to pay at the other places & also think the place is easier to get to for all the guests. OH's BIL is kindly doing the photography for us as a wedding present & my Cousin als owns a florist, so hope to make some big savings there. We were going to go to Ireland for honeymoon, but are now in two minds about this now, as if we want to discover the country, then I will have to drive for much of the holiday & OH doesn't think it would be much of a holiday for me, so we have yet to decide where to go.

We're having 60 guests in the daytime & 120 at night(120 means we get free hire of the room so that's a bonus) & like you say it is so hard to cut down the numbers. In the daytime we have had to leave cousins out so that we can have a few friends there instead. I bet New York was great. Been to Oz twice but never America & would love to go one day. Nice chatting to you & don't think I'll get chance to get back on later so chat soon! All the best to you & all the other long haulers!

Hello everyone, sorry if this becomes a bit of a rant, but need to get it off my chest. Feeling a bit down at the moment and could quite easily give up. Think it is partly the change in the weather, but mainly due to our financial situation, which is pants really. Keeping positive, we did manage to sell a car, not the original one, but the old banger I use to get to work. thats great, but the money is already accounted for and not even on debt, just things that we need. The other car is MOT'd tomorrow and already has had 2 new front tyres costing £80, I know its not DFW, but we had to put this on the credit card, got about £6 in the bank at the mo. Its my birthday on thursday and DS birthday on Friday. We have put a little money aside to take DS out for the day, but other than that nothing, dont feel like celebrating mine. We just keep taking one step forward and 2 back. Been round the house to see what we could sell and there is very little, the car was the main thing, already sold loads of stuff. finding it hard to keep a PMA
  • Glad you managed to raise some money Dubgirl, so sorry things are really carp right now. Are you on a DMP at all? Maybe that would help? You can only cut back and raise income so far.

((((hugs)))) I wish I could do more. Ref Birthdays how about just spending an evening together watching a film, having a nice meal and my Oh does a great foot or body massage thats so relaxing (I usually fall asleep!) and free.

Hi KP, thanks for that, we are already on a DMP with CCCS. re Birthdays, OH got a tip from work, he's a lorry driver and with that we are going to get a chinese takeaway tomorrow night on my birthday, so looking forward to that. OH wont touch my feet!!! with a new day, I think I am going to try to not worry about it for the next few days, as it will only put me in a miserable mood for the birthdays. I think I have resigned myself to our lifestyle at the moment and try and make the best of it. x
