Hello everyone, ISOM I have sent you a PM. Well the last couple of days have been good. On thursday, my birthday, OH told me that we were going out for a meal and a drink, his mum was staying the night, so babysitting was sorted. We went to an all you can eat buffet. Yum. OH's tips paid for that. On the Friday it was DS 3rd birthday, took him to the natural history museum in Tring, it is free and full of stuffed animals, thought it was going to be a bit freaky but wasnt and was interesting, DS loved it. His Nanny came with us (OH's mum) and she bought him a new pair of shoes and dinner for us all, which was kind of her, so freebie day. On Saturday we went to the great gryehound gathering in Nottingham run by the Retired greyhound trust, with our lovely grey Rhonda. She had a great time, never seen so many greys in one place, I do adore these dogs. took a picnic, entry was free and petrol again supplied by OH tips. He has been saving them up for a while. All I bought was some Xmas cards as I like to support the RGT in some small way. Today, just a quiet day at home and housework, so in all a good weekend and feeling in a better mood and a bit more relaxed, also got a lovely surprise in the post from ISOM. I am going to try to maintain this more positive frame of mind, as I am on leave for a week from 6th October and I think I need the break. x

Hi Dubgirl, glad you had a great time, my Mum treated us to an all you can eat Chinese buffet last week, they're great aren't they! Greyhounds are lovely dogs, would like to go to the races sooner or later. They were advertising 1p meals on T.V. the other day but I am not sure if this was for Peterborough or Nottingham racecourse!

  • hi everyone!!

a lot has happened since my last post, so i thought i would update....

i had an accident a couple of weeks ago (someone rear-ended my car  ) and my car was considered uneconomical to repair, so the other persons insurance has come up with a settlement and i get to keep the car, plus i have received a compensation cheque for the injuries i sustained. :j

so...i am paying off my debts which still charge interest with that money as soon as it clears, i have cleared three of my smallest debts from this months payday :T and i have cca'd four of my other creditors all of whom have not managed to find a cca to date....

as the rest of my debts do not charge interest, my new challenge is to use all my spare cash to pay off as much as possible in overpayments to my mortgage and drastically reduce the amount of interest i pay...when i have completed that i will sling all of the cash at my debts...i am really going to try to be entirely debt free within ten years....its a long road ahead but i am determined to make it:D thanks to everyone here, i am sure i can do this!!

can I join too please ???

Although I've finally cleared my credit and store cards, I've still got a loan that will be with me till 2015.

I've looked at making overpayments on the loan, but since its front loaded, I'd rather save extra money away in my account (where I get the interest, not the bank) and look at possible early settlement at some stage.
