Hello everyone, havent posted for while, been really busy. Hello to the new faces and welcome. Still plodding on, for those that dont know we have a DFD probably at the moment of about 40 years from now! Bit a shock at first, but slowly learnt to accept it and do our best to reduce debt quicker, but that is not happening at the moment. OH has recently gone back to full-time work after looking after DS for a year and we dont seem any better off. For those who may remember, we have still not sold our car. x0

Thanks for the welcome. We currently owe approx £20-21K (awaiting new statements so can update). We have in the past owed as much as £33K on top of the mortgage. I've posted my SOA here together with some of the areas we are currently struggling with.

I can also regularly be found on the finished baskets, small dfw things and £10 a day challenge....
In summary in the past we have average £1K overspend a month, got that down to about £300 a month with £840 debt repayment (the £300 ends up on CC so revolving cycle). Trying to get to £840 debt repayment while living within means. Looks at lodgers, cash back sites, surveys competitions selling stuff as a way of raising money. Started looking at old style board but a bit overwhelming there is so much info on there. I'm currently trying the storecupboard challenge - on day 3 now and have set myself a challenge of 8 NSD in August am on 5 so far.
Have OH and 2 kids, 2 cars and a motorbike the latter all have mechanical problems. Want to sell 1 car and a motorbike and replace with 1 vehicle but OH wants to add to debt by buying something more reliable.... don't want to engage in false economy but don't want to fall into any pits either....
Biggest motivation for getting debt free - I earn more but am in a temp job which could end at 1 month's notice (maternity cover) and we want a big celebration in 2 years without crippling ourselves again....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
