Hi all, well done FP on selling he car. Just like to say my goodbyes, for reasons given on my Our Road to Recovery-Part 2 thread. Good luck to you all & God Bless!!
Hi again & thanks for your replies. Well I am going to stick around on here for a while & sorry about my previous post saying my goodbyes. I will be honest & say that I do feel much better not coming on here as often, as I really felt that it was taking over my life. We are going to carry on chipping away at our debts in our own time & pace, so sorry ISOM we are going to drop out of the £8k a year challenge & I have also dropped out of the £10 a day challenge. I will continue to come onto this thread as the support from you folks is invaluable. I will also continue with my/our own diary & of course contnue to ake advice from Martin himself. So I may only come on here a couple of times a week to catch up & also to update diary. Thanks again for your support, back soon, all the best!!

Just updated my sig and have broken that (annoying!) £27k barrier...Been a busy month debt busting and would have done even better if the car tax hadn't needed to be paid last week! Hoping to have a good July as was aiming to have paid off around £4000 by now so am a bit behind in my challenge!! Keep going peeps!!!!

I finally got around to ringing the bank to pay that chunk off the loan, that and this months installment have taken me near 20% paid since the debt was at its highest.

Thanks for the support folks. We are feeling a little more upbeat at the moment as OH had a cracking wage today & I have started to get into the swing of things regarding overtime. Very nearly cracked the £31k mark, although mortgage, council tax etc. go out next week so will be back up to around £31.5k! Well done to Johnnyboy on cracking the £27k & to KP on paying off 20%. Starting to strike the right balance & we know that we will get there sooner or later, whilst enjoying life & not being too obsessed with our debts at the same time.

Wise words ltm07...getting the balance right between paying off debts and enjoying life is sometimes really hard!! We all want to clear our debts quickly but not missing out on enjoying life is def more important.

Welcome back with open arms angelflower! Suspect battle fatigue has alot to answer for which was why I started this thread - us longhaulers need to pace ourselves cos we have a long old journey so need to pack sandwiches & a flask and sometimes get diverted down a wrong path...getting back to the right path is what counts :)
We'll get there Ltm - It takes a while to find the right level between paying debts while being part of the human race! I got a new soap/lotion dispenser for 12 today...took me a month to buy it having full researched the whole market first lol!!!

Hiya guys just found ur thread with a little help from night owls x

It looks like I'm a bit late to join you as it's already july today.

I think my main problem with money is that I'm all or nothing, I def haven't got the balance right. Every penny I get first goes on bill/mortgage and wots left goes on overpayments and savings not on me. I get real scared at the thought of keeping any or spending any money in case I let myself go.:o

According to the calculators I'll be at it for about 45yrs before I'm mortgage free, that can't be right, but I think that was on repayment and mine is interest only. Not a good idea but the only way I could get a mortgage down here, nothings cheap.

I shall read ur thread with interest, sorry to waffle on.

    Good morning,
Have sent off my first token payments and had a few phone calls, so far everyone I have spoken to has been quite understanding, I suspect this won't last though. Cancelled Experian yesterday, after having my final look at my credit report reading 'Satisfactory' from top to bottom. Oh how things change. Am I concerned that my report will be bad, yes. Am I ever going to get another card of any kind (debit card excluded), NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first payment to Payplan is due now on the 15th July and I will be glad when that has been made as I will view it as the beginning of the end.
Hope you all have a peaceful day. x
