frazz welcome! Good luck with teh giving up smoking - I am on day 8 with the help of lozenges - hw you doing it? LOts of support on here! Grocery challenge is great (see old style boards) and people are v. friendly generally! There is also a cutting dow on ach/smoking/eatng...you name it really! Have a look round & get stuck in although be warned, it is addictive!!
In terms of sturggling, welcome to the club! Its, for me, been about tackling my demons (why I shopped to excess!) and living a new way of life. Two years & 1 month later on I am much happier than I was and live a very different life to before! At the start I would have asked whether shopping could be put down as a hobby! Now I have budgets, do challenges (this weeks being a no spend week - have got petro & stamps & thats it since last Monday!) and learned how to cook...I had a majr (7000!) blip in the middle but cant see me repeating that experience! Lessons learned and we al trip up but help each other get back up and start again. Hang in there. Its not easy but it really is worth it!

Morning, well afternoon. I am really struggling right now, all huge bills came at once I have over spent on my budget and feel terribly guilty about it. But damage limitation from next pay day and will try my hardest not to spend too much. By now I should be under £30K but I'm not and am beating myself up about it.
ok moan over!
take care everyone,

I wish I had never bothered starting to plan to sell the flipping car to raise extra money. Lots of stress no guarantee the other car wont end up being a lemon and to top it all someone has scratched the car (one being sold) last night. OH stressing about it. I dont care about the odd scratch its a family car but he thinks it will affect the selling price.
The bank lied or hid the truth about my loan interest so now Im not sure what to do on that. Save high interest or just pay chunks off. Works piling up as well.
Deep breath
I think we all need to just chill and remember that we are on this thread for a reason and just be as good as possible allow for the odd blip and eventually it will pay off.
(((hugs)))) for all.:j0 -
I am staying put with e-on now,not that they wouldn't do the same, but nothing seems to run smoothly when we change companies:( !
I've been with Eon/powergen for a few years now. Every 6 months or so I phone them and ask them to check I'm still on the best value tarrif for my usage as they are always bringing out new ones. I've always managed to get a better tarrif and have even reduced my monthly payments. It's a lot less stress than changing supplier.

Thanks for that sam, I will do the same too as it looks as tough it saves you quite bit of cash. Sorry to hear about your car wendy, there relly are some spiteful bar stewards about. 1 step closer,we too should be below £30k but something always seems to crop up,but stay strong we WILL all get there sooner or later. As long as you are living within your means & not adding to your debts(although sometimes along this DFW journey you may have no choice but to add a little now & then) Some great posts & support again ISOM,good luck to all others, back tomorrow!!Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Hi everyone, Wendy, hope you can find a way forward with the bank and the car. Well, we now have £9 in the current account and £7 in the saving account and that is it, all our money!. Well until OH gets paid on Friday. We have also put our car up for sale as it is just to costly to run (its a Saab), we have bought an old diesel estate, Astra, which should hopefully be more economical, however since getting it home found out it has two oil leaks! Hopefully the Saab will sell, and we will then have some more money, if not dont know.0
