  • Hi all

Please could I join, I don't have up-to-date details of the current state of my finances because I'm at work but the debt is around £26,000 and according to the snowball I am on course to be DF in December 2009(ish), although the boilers on the blink and I have a holiday in November so the DF date could well be extended. Anyway I will update the signature later.

Also I'm happy to keep a spreadsheet on how everyone is progressing, if you would like me to.

How about a monthly update along the lines of the MFi3 thread on the MFW board. Showing starting debt, amount paid back, percentages and DF dates etc.

My geography is pants, and I have a headache, but Norwich - to - Cardiff just about spreads the entire width of the fattest bit of the UK doesn't it? (I know Norwich isn't on the coast so maybe not the fattest, but very wide?)

No idea why that should be of interest to you :o it just amused me. :o

:rotfl: very random hun... made me laugh though.

And yeppers i think the long haul bit is right... could be tied to one of my CC's for 16 years. Ouchies.

Welcome all & thanks to those who have volunteered to do things! LOL re the fat Norwich to Cardiff bit!! If people would be happy to say where they are (pm me of you dont want to say on open forum!) I could work out where the central point is and just hope its not somewhere naff! Then it's just about setting a weekend to do it & plan some fun activities! Any ideas?!! (keep em clean please Lenny!!). Then all we have to do is SAVE up for it! What innovtive ways have people used for going away DFW stye? Any hints...I've not done it yet! Ie are tesco deals any good for nights away or airmiles etc or is it more DFW to go B&B?! I am happy to give a lift to ayone coming from my end of the woods (preferably with a petrol donation!) ...anyway...look forward to the next phase & welcome newbies today! We can do it!!

  • ooh! Can I join as well?

I'm two years into a DMP, with nine more to go - I'll be 51 when I'm debt free ! Started off with 42K of debt, next week it'll be below 35K (another mini milestone) but feeling a little downheartened because it just feels soooo long away. If I ever get to time travel I am definately going to have a serious talk with my younger self about the evils of credit cards, especially when combined with poor impluse control!
Don't judge people on they way they look, the way they speak or what they're called because they can't help that.

Only judge people on what they say and what they do.

Look what happens when I do some work at work!, we're up to 99 posts already (obviously this thread is needed).

Re. the meet I AM going to the one in January (at least that's the plan and I'll see some family at the same time and kill more that two birds with one stone), but another meet sounds lovely too. How about mid-summer so we have a mid-winter meet and a mid-summer meet (obviously in different parts of the country), but I wouldn't expect them to be exclusively for us long-haulers as we're all here to become debt free whether that's in 1 month, a year or a decade (or more;) )!!!

  • Hi all just popping in before I go to bed as have to be up at 5am so aiming to be asleep by 8.30 at the latest! Hang in there blissful! It does seem a long time but you know what they say - the older you get the quicker theyears go!! Can understand how you feel though so hugs for you & hope tomorrow feels brighter!
Re the meet I am not against the one being planned in Jan and certainly wouldnt want people to feel that I was! Just want to be clear on that as I know how things on here can be misconstrued at times! Party on all over the place says me (although I actually lathe parties but there we go!!). As for this one I was wondering whether March may be a good time - before summer but far enough away from Christmas to look forward to - although weather may be an issue!! Summer seems a LOOONG time away :(
Keep saying where you are so I can go through at some point soon(ish!) & see where would be good! Ok must go as "to do" before bed!!
