Re. the meet I AM going to the one in January (at least that's the plan and I'll see some family at the same time and kill more that two birds with one stone), but another meet sounds lovely too. How about mid-summer so we have a mid-winter meet and a mid-summer meet (obviously in different parts of the country), but I wouldn't expect them to be exclusively for us long-haulers as we're all here to become debt free whether that's in 1 month, a year or a decade (or more;) )!!!

And where was everyone for the first meet?! Hmm? :p;)

Hello fellow long-haulers. I too feel a little like Fishface, meeting in person feels a bit daunting now, but if we all commit to this thread, and have some fun, laughs and cries along the way, we will surely feel like good old pen pals in no time!!

I vote Mcardinalblue as team treasurer!!!One volunteer is worth ten pressed men. I would have taken the task, but it would have been a quick learning curve for me!!

well done. Shall we start with end of Octobers figure for all the long haulers who have already started. Bit of a dummy run for newbies.:D

    Hi all

Please could I join, I don't have up-to-date details of the current state of my finances because I'm at work but the debt is around £26,000 and according to the snowball I am on course to be DF in December 2009(ish), although the boilers on the blink and I have a holiday in November so the DF date could well be extended. Anyway I will update the signature later.

Also I'm happy to keep a spreadsheet on how everyone is progressing, if you would like me to.

How about a monthly update along the lines of the MFi3 thread on the MFW board. Showing starting debt, amount paid back, percentages and DF dates etc.

  • Hi all!

Sorry the cuppa went cold - will a drop of brandy do instead? After the day I've had brandy would do me! LOL

I've had a thought - instead of just 1 person doing all the figures on a spreadsheet which put additional pressure on that 1 person, what about (as has already been suggested) that we start by putting a "start" date of end of Oct (those of us who have done this for what seems foever could put original lightbulb date and total beside Oct's figures) and then do another figure at the end of Dec and then perhaps quarterly after?

eg Oct debt now £1000 (LBD month/year £1500)
    Dec 07 debt now £867.53
    March 08 now £763.98

    What do you all think?

1 step (who would quite like a number pretty please as numbers don't argue with you or threaten physical violence)
