Given that I left FU 8 weeks ago and they are supposed to issue a final bill within 6 weeks, I'm going to lodge a complaint with them.,

Similarly ,I left FU ~9 weeks ago -and no final bill BUT I left Octopus nearly 5 months ago and still nothing!!:rotfl:

Interestingly, I've just spotted this in the "View My Payments" section at FU:

The £8.57 is the credit figure shown on the bill recently sent to me by FU (technically the "second bill", for period 19/10/18 to 3/11/18

  • Just received the below e-mail form First Utility (whom I left in early December and am awaiting the final bill)....

    Hello xxx,
Important information about your Direct Debit
We’re writing to let you know that we’re unable to collect your Direct Debit payment for February as we’re still transferring your payment details onto our system. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

From March, your Direct Debit payments will go back to being collected on your usual due date. If you’d like to review your payment date, please check your online account.
As we’re unable to take your Direct Debit, please make a manual payment to cover your usage for this month.

Once your payment details are on our system, we’ll automatically reinstate your Direct Debit with your bank and continue to collect your payments from March. You’ll receive a copy of the Direct Debit guarantee shortly.

    Thanks,
    The First Utility Team

I have, just this moment, received the second promised electricity bill from First Utility - zero units of leccy (because their "estimate" for the reading on the 18th October is higher than the reading I gave them which is recorded as 3rd November) so just 15 days of standing charges.
The statement does show the carried forward credit from the previous Usio bill, so I have a credit going forward to the third "final" bill to be produced ???mid Feb.

EDIT -Just checked my FU account -absolutely nothing showing in contrast to post #273

Hi, had this email too, though, of course when I go online to make a payment it says my account is up to date!

I have just phoned FU to chase my final bill AGAIN ( I switched away from FU on 23rd November); informed by the rep. that we are in the end stages now, and that the 3rd and "final" bill to complete the hand-over should be produced either this week or by end of next week.
  • Aha, and suddenly a wild final bill appears. However the final reading is almost 200Kwh higher than the final reading sent to the new provider! Luckily I still have the photo that the pure app requested ;)

Still awaiting my final bill to appear -HOWEVER the final reading should agree with the opening read shown on my first (and only) statement from One Select. If it doesn't I envisage some pain getting the readings sorted:(

Just updating my ongoing saga with my Usio - First Utility switch. FU have requested another 2 readings with photos to be taken over two hours apart so they can work out which meter is day/night. I've responded by telling them to read the email I sent a month ago with the results then.
I get the feeling they send these requests because they aren't in a position to produce a final bill but it's not easy when I have to scrabble around in the bottom of a cupboard trying to get decent photographs of the readings each time.
This is the worst experience I have had with an energy company.

I have managed to raise an objection to the initial FU read (as it didn't agree with the final Usio read, resulting in me being charged for 32 kwh twice)-HOWEVER, FU have taken it upon themselves to change the final reading as well! This means that the following supplier (One Select) will have a different reading!!And as they have gone to the wall, more problems.

This whole process of third party verification ,just doesn't seem to work as intended.
