Ive had the same e mail stating Im going to get three bills through the post but they also sent me this :-
Hello
Thanks for sending us your opening electricity meter reading. These are validated against the previous readings on your meter. Unfortunately, yours have come back as inaccurate and have been changed to the following:
Reading you provided:
97512
Corrected reading:
100541
To try to ensure you get an accurate bill we will take this corrected reading and use this to calculate your first bill.
If you believe your reading to be correct, simply send us a private Tweet or Facebook Message and we can dispute the industry read on your behalf. We will just need a more recent meter reading (at least seven days after your initial reading).
Just click either of the buttons below to chat to us online from 8am - 6pm, Monday - Friday
Thing is they have over estimated my meter reading by over 2000 units again.
And why on earth do I have to communicate with this company via a Twitter or Facebook Account ?
Sorry but I leaving FU as soon as possible.
Don't think FU have overestimated your reading -it would not be in their interests to inflate the start reading - sounds as if the verification process has failed to match your "97512" with the expected usage derived from historic information held for your meter. You will need to raise a dispute - I agree that raising via FB or Twitter is not satisfactory, but if needs must..........:(0 -

You could, but ARDs are a notoriously slow process. If the higher figure works in your favour (ie; it is attached to a cheaper tariff), I would just go with it. If your actual meter reading is less than the industry estimate, then you will only pay standing charges until the meter passes the estimated reading. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'd keep quiet if I were you.
But it depends what the monthly rate of usage is - on "average" figures that is ~ 10 months of leccy usage -since FU are on a monthly billing cycle they will not accept any manually supplied figures and will insert estimates ,making the situation potentially worse and worse -esp. if the poster intends to move on from FU:eek:0 -

A couple of hundred KWHs I'd agree but 3000 ??0 -

I am not saying that an ARD shouldn’t be raised; all I am saying is that the discrepancy may work in a consumer’s favour. I had a gas switch that went awry and the changeover reading resulted in me over paying supplier ‘A’, but not paying supplier ‘B’ unit charges for over 3 months.
Ovo states that an ARD can take anything from 8 to 14 weeks. The industry does not have a reputation for speed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

At some point someone (FU or someone else) will have to take a real reading, at which point it will fix itself. Or a later reading could be disputed at a time which would be more beneficial. Regardless, if the poster accepts the inflated opening reading, the 2000 units at Usio's cheap rates will have been 'banked' (I don't see rates going down any time soon).0 -

Usio in administration probably (UK Power Networks shows Usio as current electricity provider) although not sure how that would work either with Usio no longer having a energy licence (First Utility most certainly didnt take over supply on 19 Oct as they are still in the process of registering the property and havent completed the transfer process as yet!)0 -

In my region , the Western Power database showed FU as my supplier from the 7th November - I think it showed no supplier for a couple of days prior. Don't know how the distributors are notified of change of supplier - maybe in batches??0 -
Anyone had a bill yet from FU/Usio? I've moved away today and still no sign of anything new from FU regarding the end bill/credits from Usio.0
