Add your feedback on energy supplier Usio Energy

I had started my switch from Outfox The Market to Usio at start of October (7th). The switch was due to take place on 29 October. By the time i found out about Usio entering into administration it was too late to cancel the switch and old supplier couldn't do anything. Outfox have since confirmed that Usio have taken over the supply (but not confirmed the date the transfer took place).
FU haven't been in touch either with tariff details nor set up an account. So at the moment i seem to be stuck in Usio limbo! and cant start switch out of FU.
In the meantime getting various emails from Outfox about the prices and direct debits going up and also requesting meter readings.
I would initiate a call to FU. They have a special number to ring for "previous" customers of Usio, and establish your status. You just need to give them your postcode and address.
Special number for FU / Usio:

On my FU account, the status of both the opening gas and electricity readings dated 3rd November have been updated to read 'Your reading has been accepted and will be used on your bill' (previously they said 'thanks, we've received your reading').
I actually took the gas one on the 11th November, but it suits me if it's backdated to the 3rd, as that is more Gas on the cheaper Usio tariff.
Still unclear what happens about the period between when Usio went bust (oct 19th ish? and the 3rd November...)0 -

My supplied meter reading for the 19th Oct. for leccy, now appears twice on the account - first line says "industry",second says "customer" -but both say 3rd November!!0 -

Same here with my electricity readings for FU. I wonder if it's to make it crystal clear about which readings are from the "customer" and have been "accepted" by FU, and then show the readings which have been subsequently verified by the validation process?
Incidentally, my gas reading - taken on the same date, 3/11/18, still isn't "industry". Also, when I tried to submit a fresh reading, just to help FU stay clear of making silly estimates for me, it tried to record it as 3rd November again??!!0 -
At last I have an email from First Utility to let me know I am a customer. I've followed the link and changed the password but it's just an empty account. No tariff info or meter readings in there and they haven't asked for a reading yet.0

Still no sign of the Usio credit balance appearing in the FU account. WAS hoping that it would be sorted before my switch away from FU next week but looking increasingly unlikely.
With all the stories of other small suppliers apparently being in financial difficulties, there could be a mountain of unaccounted monies floating around by the Spring:eek:
COULD spell the end of switching for many people for the foreseeable future:(0 -
Is Pureplanet risky? So far I've had GBelectric, Iresa and Usio go bust while I was a customer. Fortunately it's only ever been electric and I monitor it quite closely.0

Who knows. As of this time last year, the supplier appears to have been loss making. Having said that, most new suppliers struggle in the first few years.
Looking back to GBEnergy (and I suspect the same, in part, can be said for Iresa) they got greedy. It must be a real temptation to try to grow customer numbers rapidly by offering market-leading prices. In volatile energy markets, this may not be a good strategy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
