My second email from FU
Confirmation of your payment details Thanks for switching your energy to First Utility. We’re pleased to confirm your payment preference as ‘paying on receipt of your bill’. Your first bill may take a few months to be produced, so it’s best to put money aside ready for it. Your payment date will be set for 14 days after this, and will be shown on your bill.0 -

So, I finally had an email from FU yesterday (20 Nov) giving me an account number. I phoned to enquire about what tariff I was in. They said my account switched to them on the 19 Oct..... (rubbish rate)
Now they want a meter reading and I am unsure whether I backdate it with a guesstimate, or whether I am better off giving them the current one? Although I switched to Usio in May, they never actually took any DD off me, despite me supplying them with the info twice.
So have I lucked in with 6 months free electric or do I face a horrendous bill from FU on their new tariff?
I submitted a meter reading on line with USIO about a month or so ago but of course that can't now be accessed.... The only meter reading I have on record is the one from SoEnergy as my closing read on 26 Apr 18.

Unfortunately, reading all the current tales of woe re Eversmart, Oufox the Market, Enstroga etc,and in light of the demise of Iresa,Usio, GBE also, one thinks that the horse has bolted already!!:(0 -

It would be nice to think so but Citizens Advice has been pushing for better checks for new suppliers since GBEnergy collapsed. This was their position in March 2018:
Quote: The charity believes that the performance of a number of new and smaller suppliers at the bottom of the table is further evidence of the need for Ofgem to tighten its licensing rules. Citizens Advice has said that it is currently too easy for firms to set themselves up as a new energy supplier and that some firms are serving customers before they have the systems and processes in place to deliver good quality customer service. Unquote
This, of course, was before Iresa; Usio et al failed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So I've just rec'd an email from FU re the Usio takeover which is clear as mud! They are saying that we will receive 3 bills - a bill for Usio up to 18th Oct. ,a bill for the period from 19th October to 2nd Nov. and a third bill for 3rd Nov. to 4th Dec. What they aren't saying is where they are getting meter readings from!! I've only given them one reading ,taken on 19th October which appears on FU site as 3rd November!
I hope they aren't going to estimate a reading for 18th October because I'll get charged for units at the higher FU rate - to further complicate the situation I actually had a statement from Usio on the 7th October.0 -

Had the same email. As you may have seen from my previous post, we were mid transfer from Outfox The Market when Usio went bust. So it will be interesting to see how FU deal with that as far as the 3 bills are concerned (given we went live with Usio after 18 Oct). Outfox The Market have confirmed we moved to Usio on 28 October (but have issued a bill going to 9 Nov - so will have to keep an eye on them as well!).
what a mess!0 -

Ive had the same e mail stating Im going to get three bills through the post but they also sent me this :-
Hello
Thanks for sending us your opening electricity meter reading. These are validated against the previous readings on your meter. Unfortunately, yours have come back as inaccurate and have been changed to the following:
Reading you provided:
97512
Corrected reading:
100541
To try to ensure you get an accurate bill we will take this corrected reading and use this to calculate your first bill.
If you believe your reading to be correct, simply send us a private Tweet or Facebook Message and we can dispute the industry read on your behalf. We will just need a more recent meter reading (at least seven days after your initial reading).
Just click either of the buttons below to chat to us online from 8am - 6pm, Monday - Friday
Thing is they have over estimated my meter reading by over 2000 units again.
And why on earth do I have to communicate with this company via a Twitter or Facebook Account ?
Sorry but I leaving FU as soon as possible.:mad:0
