Cheery's country living adventure

I did have a Haynes manual for the old car, but not either of these (although they're 13 & 14 years old so not exactly new). However I'm afraid car maintenance is one thing that I do outsource. I did do a car maintenance course once, which was interesting - but quite frankly it's just one thing too far for me. I do still feel like I *should* be doing it myself (because, as you point out, I more than likely *could*) but I'm afraid it's just one thing too many!7

Ome thing I will be doing soon though is making covers for the arms of the sofa. Mr Cheery's had it for over 20 years (one of the few things he ever bought new!) and the arms are getting very worn and grubby. I've cleaned them over the years, but really they're getting a bit past it now. I've dug out some upholstery fabric and will just be making a couple of slip on covers, nothing fancy.7

That's fair enough about the cars Cheery - it's not a job I would want to do particularly, but I know I could (and DH does it anyway). It does save a fair bit of money though, especially on old cars!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I can imagine it does save money! 😮 I would love it if Mr Cheery wanted to, but he's even less interested than me, and since I am already chief bike fixer (and house cleaner, and clothes washer, and administrator, and gardener) I'm reluctant to add anything else to the list of things that are mine by default 🙄
One day though, maybe when the house is in order and I'm not working full time any more! I think I'd be more inclined to learn if I had someone standing next to me teaching me, but trying to figure it out on my own is just a bit much right now. At least with house/garden/sewing etc you're not likely to accidentally disconnect something that could cause an accident 😮7 -

Cheery - I totally agree with outsourcing the car maintenance! I'd rather just pay the nice man to do it well & quickly than ever let the OH give it a go
Like you, I wear enough hats in this house to take on anything else!

No need to learn how to service a cat - although I wouldn't say no to bit of chicken vet training 🙄😂
Lovely evening here - went out for tea to a cheery cafe which is opening late, and which is about half way between us and the city. Met a pal there and had a tasty pizza, garlic bread, cup of tea and a packet of Maltesers 😂 Total cost for Mr Cheery and I (including pop for me and beer for him) was £31 - not too bad. Lovely to sit outside with all their twinkly lights. Definitely doing that again!8 -
Ooh, twinkly lights. I love some twinkly lights. And I feel the same way about "I *could* do this, so I must do it". My life doesn't seem to actually work that way ... there's loads of stuff around here that I can do, but finding the energy to do it is completely another matter. OTOH, servicing cats or chickens would be a wonderful thing2023: the year I get to buy a car9

I’ve also trained my phone to default to Cheery rather than cherry when I swore that combination of letters! 😂Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
